I used to come here a lot for Scuba diving when I lived in Van. Things changed a lot in the last 6 years while I was living in Ottawa but in a good way. When I visited there twice in the last few days, I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, parking is on the expensive side. That said, the washroom is well maintained and there is a community garden that lessens the odour of Kelvin Grove at the entrance (a septic field?). I also love love love the fact that it is a dog off-leash beach where I could relax and swim with my doggo. All the dogs that I met there were well-behaved and the owners were on top of their (the dogs) behaviour! Also Kelvin Grove is an awesome dive site - we saw a Grunt Sculpin, an octo, and...

Leaving this review after finding a comment on the same issue from Lions Bay Beach Park down the road. We love this park, but unfortunately there is never any parking, just a lot of empty "permit only" spots, even in the parking lot. After circling around we finally parked in permit and came back to our car with a $195 ticket, all the other cars were ticketed as well. Maybe the locals should keep it a private beach instead of a public place. It is far to drive to, we weren't left with options.

Have paid the ticket and wrote the park a note, I hope they do...

$2 an hour to visit the park unless you walk, Beach is mostly fist size rocks or bigger, very small "Sandy" area about 20' long by maybe 10' wide, credit card reader didn't work to take credit cards, so bring change, there is a washroom between Beach and parking area... Hard to believe they made it a park, if anything it's water access for the desperate. Better for kayaking or scuba, some minor high rock jumping. Dogs can play but watch feet slipping on rocks. More room for who ever does go there, we...

I sort of bushwacked to get here, as a detour from the route I was initially going to. If you dont do that, this beach is extremely easy to access. No one was there, I had no music, but had 4 seal friends and i made a fire (DO NOT HAVE FIRES HERE, I had one without knowing that I was actually on a public beach). Beautiful spot to watch the sunset.

A naturally romantic beach just a short distance from Sea to Sky highway (H-1). It has a majestic views of Howe sound at any degrees. The beach has a sandy, gravel, or rocky spot to suit one's choice. It also is an ideal spot for scuba activities. Parking lot is about a couple hundred meters. This beach is not suitable for wheelchaired people.

Had the place to myself and my date. It was so quiet, peaceful and romantic! Highly recommend. Water was clean and cool, perfect for dipping our feet in. We brought a mat to sit on, chatted for hours and basked in the last summer sunshine and saw a few seals peek their heads out of the water.
