I used to come here a lot for Scuba diving when I lived in Van. Things changed a lot in the last 6 years while I was living in Ottawa but in a good way. When I visited there twice in the last few days, I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, parking is on the expensive side. That said, the washroom is well maintained and there is a community garden that lessens the odour of Kelvin Grove at the entrance (a septic field?). I also love love love the fact that it is a dog off-leash beach where I could relax and swim with my doggo. Read moreLeaving this review after finding a comment on the same issue from Lions Bay Beach Park down the road. We love this park, but unfortunately there is never any parking, just a lot of empty "permit only" spots, even in the parking lot. After circling around we finally parked in permit and came back to our car with a $195 ticket, all the other cars were ticketed as well. Maybe the locals should keep it a private beach instead of a public place. It is far to drive to, we weren't left with options.

Read more$2 an hour to visit the park unless you walk, Beach is mostly fist size rocks or bigger, very small "Sandy" area about 20' long by maybe 10' wide, credit card reader didn't work to take credit cards, so bring change, there is a washroom between Beach and parking area... Hard to believe they made it a park, if anything it's water access for the desperate. Better for kayaking or scuba, some minor high rock jumping. Dogs can play but watch feet slipping on rocks.
