Beautiful beach but not welcoming neighborhood. We live in North Vancouver and were trying to find something close to home that was small and not too busy as we have 6 month old twins. This beach seemed perfect. The wealthy neighborhood obviously treats this as their own private beach as the parking lot was closed. We ended up parking on a nearby street as several other cars had, it did say permit parking but we'd packed up and driven there, we didn't know what to do, you only have a small window with babies!! When we went back to our car we had a $195 ticket and 22 other cars had been ticketed as well. No wonder they have a nice private beach for the million dollar homes. They made $4000 in an hour from suckers like us who simply wanted to get out of the house with our family. Don't go to Lions Bay. I guess that's the message. Also why is the parking lot closed when the...

Cute little hidden beach. We wanted to check it out one weekend, but it was impossible to find parking. There are very few parking spots on the main parking lot close to the beach, and we found a spot up the hill and walked a few minutes down to the beach. Parking on the street is also not allowed as it's for the residents only. It's better to come during the week, as it was very crowded on the weekend. My toddler doesn't like sand and swimming, so I was happy there was a spot with grass and a kids' playground where we stayed while my husband went down the stairs to the water. There's also a washroom near the playground which...

Outrageous parking prices set by FlowBird. $4/hour. Minimal spaces. Best to bring a wagon if you have lots of gear and kids. It's about a 5 mins walk downhill and past a playground and stinky washrooms. When you finally hit a path, it's rocky AF. There's no stores or shops within walking distance. Only residences and a train track. Bring snacks!!

Otherwise, a great tiny little beach with playable sand. Has a dock. Very lacklustre compared to other beaches but gets the job done; the kids got to swim and...

Though not a long beach, this bay park will surely totally paid off your visit. A short distant from Sea to Sky highway ( 99 ), it has a nice and ample parking spot ( just don't forget to purchase a very affordable parking ticket) to accomodate visiting guests. Just a short walk downward the beach has captivating views of Howe sound at 180 degrees field of views. There's also a small playground for children's activities, and a clean washrooms.

Worst hiking experience. It need to pay $4 per hour for parking at public parking lots, and no permit parking around other areas. No permit dog in beach park, I had to hike a small trail instead beside the parking lots. It took our 20 minutes to walk the end of the short and hard trail, and the trail connect to highway. Our hiking is done. It doesn’t look like a public park, only looks a private territory. Strongly not recommend.
