Our late-October 2024 wedding at Lightfoot and Wolfville was absolute perfection and a dream come true. As you can see from the photos (courtesy of Cooked Photography), the setting was beautiful with golden vineyards and a breathtaking wooden building. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect backdrop for our photos and the entire day.

We want to give a huge shoutout to Kori, who worked with us every step of the way to make sure we got exactly what we envisioned. Although we were not obligated to use it, her helpful guide for choosing our other vendors (e.g., photographer, live music/DJ, taxi services, officiant, florist) helped us better make those big decisions and saved us loads of time trying to figure out who to choose. Kori was extremely responsive to emails and answering all our (mostly my) questions so we knew exactly what was included and what else we needed.

Kori and the entire team at Lightfoot exceeded our expectations on the day of as well. They were calm, professional, personable with the guests, and, overall, added to the whole experience. Although we had a lot of plans and the parents/wedding party were as prepared as they could be, Kori worked all day to make sure everyone had what they needed and stepped in when people were confused/overwhelmed (without being asked). Our other vendors were ready to go (having worked at Lightfoot and Wolfville before), but Kori was there to welcome them and provide assistance where needed, which was another thing we didn't have to think about with everything else going on.

Getting ready during the day was seamless and there were people around to get us whatever we needed (e.g., water, other refreshments, food). We had lots of space in the Bridal suite (Tidal Loft) and were able to take some great photos out on the large balcony while getting ready. The groomsmen also had their own space (The Study) with plenty of room for them to get ready and spend some time together.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with a smile and a welcome drink. The ceremony itself was made so much more beautiful by the fireplace backdrop overlooking the golden vineyards and Bay of Fundy. The signature drink and canapés at the cocktail reception were delicious and a highlight for all of our guests.

Following the cocktail reception, we had dinner down in the Barrel Cellar, which had the perfect ambiance and amazing food. Although I was initially a little worried about space in the Barrel Cellar with some of our older guests, this was absolutely not a problem in the end. We were able to comfortably do speeches during dinner and had lots of room to move around and talk to guests at all of the different tables even while servers were working. Our guests still can't get over how amazing the food and drinks were, and they were especially pleased with the portion sizes which were needed with people consuming alcohol throughout the evening.

The fact that there were washrooms on every floor and other accessible options (e.g., room to move around, large doorways) was also appreciated by our guests. Our planned out space for the evening dance was perfect for the number of guests we had (i.e., 75), and people had room to have fun and get drinks when they wanted. There is plenty of space too for a larger guest count, but we were able to keep some benches and other seating out so that the space worked with the guest count that we had. A BIG shoutout to Kevin for being a fantastic and personable bartender for the whole event too. At the end of the night, guests were easily able to grab their coats and a taxi and the venue staff did a great job helping with this.

Overall, every single vendor we spoke with knew of Lightfoot and Wolfville's reputation for weddings and were thrilled to work with us on our wedding. A big part of this is likely that they know how fantastic Kori and the team are to work with and what a beautiful spot it is for a wedding. We’re so grateful to the entire team at Lightfoot and Wolfville and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a gorgeous spot for...

This winery was one of three locations my partner, friends and I visited on a recent wine tour to celebrate my birthday. The location is stunning with a unique architectural design. It gave the feel of 'sitting around a campfire at a cabin in the winter with friends' vibes, and was the very first thing I noticed when we got there. Our waiter was very nice, professional and friendly. he gave us some background information on each wine. However, I found that this winery to be the least enjoyable of any winery I've visited in NS thus far. I think that the company's policy/day to day operation is structured in a way where it just doesn't feel as intimate, welcoming, fun or exciting as other locations.

In my opinion, the wine was subpar, average even. It just didnt do anything for a wine lover like me. The food, though beautifully plated, was very overpriced, and failed to deliver on the flavour, taste and value I hoped for. The food is served in an elegant appetizer style with fairly small bites. I found most of it, with the exception of the meatballs in the sub, lacked flavour and definitely could use salt. The wings were extremely small, and fried way too long, making them very undesirable and dry. In fact, we ended up sending them back because we just could not enjoy it.

I believe that our waiter did his best to make the experience enjoyable, but no fault of his own, did not succeed. I was also oddly surprised to hear that sampling another mini glass from one of the flights would incur an additional charge for a full glass, unlike most wineries I've visited - at least thats what my friend was told when she inquired.

All in all, outside of the beautiful building, this winery left little to be desired and is definitely not a location I would ever want to revisit. Sadly, unlike the other locations visited, this was the one that was so unimpressive that we didn't even bother to purchase a single bottle between the 10 of us.

If I were encouraging others to support local companies, this location would be at the bottom of my list. Service was good, but it just missed the mark for me. I just really did not enjoy the experience and how disengaging and uneventful it felt. I was really happy that it was the second location we visited so that we could start and end our day on...

Our experience was sadly ruined by 1 individual. My friends and I (5 adults and a 6-month old) went to visit the winery (Sept, 7th) excited to taste different local wines. We arrived and were greeted with the news that there was a 45 minutes wait for a table. We were re-directed to the tasting room which was ideal since we were not looking for food. Once in the tasting room, the VERY kind host told us we could take a table for 4 but one person would have to stand. At the table, a server/wine tasting employee (Drew I believe??) rudely, and dryly, told us we could not sit there, that our group was too big and that we could have a glass at the counter. When we mentioned his colleague directed us to this table, we were met with very dry no, that it was impossible to do wine tasting for 5 at the table, that we would be bothering everyone around us and impeding on the flow the service (the tasting room is very big and spacious with lots of room to move around). We then agreed to stand at the counter which the server then said couldn't accommodate us. He invite us to buy bottles to drink at home. Needless to say this put a damper in our visit. We wish he could have approached us with more kindness, and willingness to honour his colleagues instructions. We are very mindful of everyone's experience and would have been amiable to compromise. We left disappointed and surprised...

Food overpriced & lacked flavour. Food service took forever. We recently visited on Natal Day, we took a gamble if it would be busy or not. It wasn’t. Even our waitress commented how weird of a day it was not being busy. We ordered appetizers- curly fries were undercooked . HOUSE PROSCIUTTO & STRACCIATELLa - underwhelming and the fried bread was not seasoned. It also didn’t help that there wasn’t salt and pepper on our table. (I went over and helped myself to S&P from a cart) We sipped wine and waited patiently for our mains... Which didn’t show up, we had to call over our waitress (who seemed to be MIA for long periods of time) remind her we ordered mains. By this time, I asked for my sandwich to be packed up. It had been over an hour by this point. When it arrived at the table it was not packed up so I had to wait even LONGER for her to come back and ask for a take out box. $22 for a half piece of chicken breast was extremely disappointing , “dressed greens” was oil smothered greens, not seasoned. It was mostly bread. The pizza was also underwhelming. While waiting for mains, we walked the grounds and noticed the outdoor kitchen had a bird flying around it while they cooked. I was quite grossed out by this. Surprised they are allowed to cook in an open kitchen with birds flying in and out … SAVE your money and just try the wine flight. Which was alright.
