iHalo krunch — Attraction in Markham

The ice cream itself was fine, but the service was truly disappointing. To start, I want to acknowledge the pleasant female cashier who helped us — she was kind and professional. Unfortunately, the other staff member (an Asian male, late 20s to 30s, with long hair and a mustache) completely ruined the experience.

We came in on a summer evening, about half an hour before closing, and were polite and respectful throughout. However, he was noticeably rude to both my girlfriend and me. When we asked for an extra napkin, he acted as though it was a huge inconvenience. About ten minutes later, I returned to politely ask for an extra spoon, and he looked at me and said, “What do you want?” After I asked, he responded, “I can make an exception for you this time,” as if granting me a privilege rather than simply providing a basic item.

I hope this individual isn’t the manager or owner, because that kind of attitude doesn’t reflect well on the business. If he is, I’d strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere — there are plenty of ice cream shops on Main Street that treat customers...

Went to an ice cream shop today and ordered a flavor I was really looking forward to. Turns out the person who looked like the owner made a mistake with my order. I didn’t say anything, just confirmed the flavor I ordered. She didn’t apologize or immediately ask the staff to remake it for me. Instead, she simply put the wrong ice cream on the counter and left it there. Then, I watched as another staff member double-checked with her and finally made mine again. The entire experience felt like there was zero respect.

Ice cream flavor: 3.5 stars. Though it’s nearby, I probably wouldn’t go again.

To be honest, I don’t mind spending a few bucks on ice cream; it’s just that as a customer, I want to feel genuinely valued. After all, going out on a chilly autumn evening for ice cream is all about enjoying the experience! Sometimes, a little attention to detail and care can make someone feel truly respected. I came here on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 9:40pm to get ice cream with my girlfriend. Ihalo Krunch is sold inside “Espresso 21”. When I walked up to the counter, the male staff in the attached picture asked us how we were. I said “good, how about you?” He then said he was terrible because people are coming in now (as they close in 20 minutes).

While waiting for ice cream, he brought out his mop and stated verbatim “I hope you like getting your feet wet”.

This guy was very rude and getting angry with everyone, even getting mad at another family that walked in after me, and kicking out 2 ladies at 9:48pm, slamming the door shut on all of us.
