This was a really cool experience.
Little difficult to locate the parking. I saw plenty of people drive down the "road" but is actually someone's driveway. Park on the RIGHT side of the boardwalk, there's a small sign.
I noticed a lot of people go for a few minutes then leave but I found the peace and quiet, sound of the ocean and the breeze to be amazing. Stop for more than just a moment and enjoy life.
There are paths in the grass that lead along the ocean away from the lighthouse that I assume is private property but it appears to be maintained by someone (thank you) and there are no signs stating to keep out. I'd say just be respectful.

Read moreThe lighthouse was nice to see. The kids loved it. The best part of our stop here, however, was the deserted beach on the other side of the fishing harbour. We had our puppy with us, and had been prevented from taking him on the beach at the national park, so when a guy told us about the beach at Shipwreck Point, we decided to check it out. Free parking for the beach, and nobody on it (sunny August day . . .). The dog loved it, as did we all! Great swimming but a little rough for small kids. Shallow water...
Read moreYou have to next to the boardwalk for this lighthouse. There are signs, P1 and P2. Make sure you don't go down the lighthouse road and park in one of these spots and walk on the boardwalk. You can't go inside the lighthouse but it's a nice little walk. If it's near you I wouldn't go out of my way, but if you're already up here...
