This park is a wonderful place to be for various activities, for leisure walks, runs, biking, picnics or for when you just simply want to walk your dog. The trails are relaxing especially with the babbling sound of the flowing water close to the bistro, the rustling leaves swayed gently by the wind calms me down. It’s probably even better when the leaves and flowers finally blooms.

Nature’s wildlife is also rich in this area, different kinds of birds are seen throughout, snails on branches of trees will bring awe to kids who like to feed their curiosity and adventurism. Some people are also fishing and some are just enjoying the peace on a boat.

Picnic grounds are also great and there are designated areas for BBQ, there’s an area where you can put up a tent; plenty of garbage/recycling bins; parking space may be more challenging...

Update 2024: still enjoying this wild area of Montreal North and Ahuntsic. Note: the upkeep has been slacking and the provincial entity responsible for these parks should not let these places fend for themselves. Please pay attention to the run down areas that need more attention. Here was my year 2023 comment: Nature in the city can't be beat when describing this somewhat hidden gem. I have been coming here for years and I'm still discovering different areas. Well worth to come here several times to be able to fully appreciate the grandeur offered by this...

This is one lovely park, a cycling path runs through it, and it's great for walks, picnics, and even fishing (please research if you need a permit first, I'm guessing you do, and some spots are off limits to fishing). There used to be an old mill here, and the city had put ramps all around, so you could walk over it but that's closed off because of the decay of the installations, it's not quite safe there anymore, and there used to be a bistro, between the rushing waters between l'île de la visitation and Montreal, it's closed...

Located on the edge of the basins or along the Rivière des Prairies, the panoramic viewpoints offer interesting views of the different landscapes of the nature park. The waterfall of a hydroelectric dam can easily be seen. Also, more than 200 species of birds can be observed. The park also has walking and bike trails, and many spots for picnic. Important historical sites are worthwhile to visit: 1) La Maison du Meunier, and 2) Cité historia - Musée du Sault-au-Récollet.
