Located in the neighbourhood where I grew up, I’ve been for years biking on the beautiful Gouin path next to the river, and for some reason never noticed that pleasant rest area….. until this summer. And now I am stopping by for coffee each time I’m around.
The atmosphere is warm and very European in a way I must say. It reminds me inside of the little bike cafes in Germany and Holland. The service is super friendly and you can have your bike checked up or fix a flat tire….. Regarding the prices, it’s a little costly but times are rough for everybody, they have to make a living and I am glad I can support that cozy little spot, which hopefully will be around for many years to come. I just got my Racer Cafe shirt two days ago. 🤘

I understand this is a small business in a busy area, especially during warm weather when foot and bike traffic increases—so wait times are understandable.
However, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the offerings. My smoothie and milkshake were both expensive and lacked flavour, and a chocolate croissant plus two drinks came to $25. I’ve visited other small cafes, even busier ones, where the taste and quality were significantly better.

That said, I was shocked at the price: $17 for two coffees. I ordered a mokaccino and was charged $6 for hot chocolate plus a $3 coffee shot — $9 total for one drink. I didn’t even realize what was happening until I saw the bill.
