A beautiful lake just outside the Jasper towns items. It is a little hard to find the road to get here but worth the search. It is tranquil and pretty with an interesting World War 2 history connection. On this lake experiments were conducted in 1943 to build a 1/50 scale ship made from ice to make an "unsinkable" aircraft carrier to escort the supply convoys to Europe and protect them from the threat of attack by German U-boats. On the same road, just beyond Patricia Lake is Pyramid Lake, also a scene of beauty, where you can find hotel accommodation, restaurants, walking trails and boat rentals for a more develpoed tourist atmosphere. Carry on past this development just a short distance to the end of the road to find Pyramid Island and more walking trails. This is a beautiful, almost pristine area known to only a few fortunate people.
