The water here is very shallow, making it perfect for young children or dogs with short legs. You can walk a very long distance into the water and only have it come as high as your knees. This is a natural beach that is not groomed or maintained in any way and is home to the local wildlife. This means there are grasses growing all along the beach, you have to watch out for goose and seagull poop and be aware of the local wildlife including snakes. With that being said, it is a very fun beach for families because of the safety factor.

Dog friendly.

Washrooms available. No restarurant or refreshment stand.

Take a walk along the boardwalk that meanders through the marsh located at the far end of the parking lot.

Parking fees apply. Take note this is a very popular destination on weekends and parking is limited. DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF PRIVATE COTTAGES. Some parking is available on the road before you reach the entrance to the park. Take notice of "no parking" signs as they...

2022 July 4.5★ If you haven't been, you need to stop by just to check it out. This beach is super shallow with shallow waters for hundreds of metres.

Two raised boardwalks traverse the sensitive dune habitat to access the beach. A camp and seasonal mobility mat provide additional access to the sand and water's edge.

Apart from the beach, there is a Wild Garden Trail approximately 1.5 km / 45 min walk. The Wild Garden trail leads you through several habitats and features panels that tell the story of Singing Sands. If you have a camera or binoculars bring them along! Hiking shoes are recommended

A section of the Wild Garden trail is designed to accommodate wheelchairs, mobility aids and strollers. Accessible Boardwalk 250 m / 15 min Wheelchair accessibility starts from the parking lot and includes a universal washroom at the reception building

Other features include: Picnic area Barbecuing permitted Swimming

Careful as there's Poison Ivy and rattle snakes...

When you find a quiet and a beautiful sand beach in the middle of all the rocky area, its enough to wonder how nature keeps you entertained and surprised all the time. After a tiring walk to see the Grotto (which wasn't any less amusing) we thought to check this beach out, although we had not heard a lot about it. Kids were much delighted to play in the sand while the water was quite warm unlike at the Grotto (even in the middle of May) - This beach sits at Lake Huron which is warmer than the Georgian Bay although it is just across the road. I would recommend travelers to spend some time at this beach if you are in the area, as you do not often get to see as much of clear warm water and...

We love going here with our toddler because the beach is so shallow it is perfect for her. Since they have built the boardwalk and the new facility it is a lot more enjoyable for our family because we can take our daughter for a walk (the path and boardwalk are stroller friendly!) and use the nice new bathrooms and changing stalls that are always very clean before we go to the beach. The sunsets are beautiful here as well. We usually try to go on a weekday though because it does get very busy. My only complaint is that parking is expensive, but it can still be a great cheap day if you bring a picnic lunch! There are a few picnic tables available along the beach to use.
