This has been one of our favorite hikes around Nanaimo so far. It's a 6.4 km hike to the narrows and back to the parking. There is a 110 metre elevation drop. You hike downhill to the narrows, uphill back to the parking. It's a good hike for us since we are a bit older and I'm not in good hiking form. I would classify it as easy to intermediate. Once you get there you can boat watch as many boats pass here due to the shallow waters on the other side of Mudge Island. Also there are sea lions in the water who are fun to watch as well.
