Pipers Lagoon and Park has both an exposed beach and a more sheltered beach. Even on the exposed beach side of the path there's a small bay that's great for swimming in the summer. This path that is between the lagoon area and the exposed beach carries on and leads to a variety of trails to explore. If you're able to climb a bit to crest the rocks at the end of the initial easy and accessible pathway, you will find a well worn main path that takes you on a short hike around the rock that has many beautiful and interesting views of the surrounding ocean, lagoon area and the historical "Shack Island". Be prepared for protuding roots and rocks on the trails, once you reach the end of the initial walkway and crest the rocks to this path.

5/5 Stars Pipers Lagoon Park is a hidden gem! This peaceful retreat offers stunning views, scenic trails, and a beautiful beach. The lagoon's calm waters and surrounding greenery create a serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and nature walks. The park's trails are well-maintained and offer scenic views of the lagoon and surrounding hills. The beach is picturesque, with interesting rocks and tide pools to explore. It's an ideal spot for picnics, reading, or simply unwinding. What I loved most about Pipers Lagoon Park is its tranquility and natural beauty. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and connect with nature. Highly recommended!

Stopped at this little park for a view of the Entrance Island Lighthouse. While the lighthouse was visible it was also windy and cold so I didn't stay long. There is a decent sized parking lot and the bathrooms...well, they are bathrooms. They weren't the cleanest and are fairly small but so much better than outhouses. It seemed to be a pretty popular park though. Sure it's busier in the warmer months. There are picnic tables and grass around the parking lot. There are also benches behind the drift wood along the little bit of beach I walked. I wish I had been able to visit on a day that it wasn't so windy and cold so that I could have explored the park more.

Pipers Lagoon Park is a great place to relax for all ages! The lagoon is protected from the strong waves, allowing children to swim and play to their heart's content. It's also large enough that you could kayak or paddle board in it. In the other side of the lagoon is a beach laden with pebbles and sand, great for beach party, picnic, bbq, and easy access for a quick dip in the water. The water line is maybe 10-20 meters from the trail which is between the lagoon and the beach. It's also a long Beach so feel free to spread out! There's plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Look out into horizon and watch the ferries, the cruise liners, the float planes, and the mountain peaks all in the distance. Go for a walk if you want to as well! When you're done, feel free to rinse your legs off with the public rinsing faucets then hop into your car! Medium sized parking lot that can accommodate most general crowds (likely too small to accommodate the summer...

A Very Highly rated Attraction. This more compact Park (than its "neighbour") highlights the "ground level" view of the Page Lagoon [with its tidal flows]... as well as the Oceanside features including the pebble beaches, huge driftwood logs, places to sit and "experience"/enjoy the wildlife [birds and Marine Mammals] as well as the ships and Ferries departing from Nanaimo's busy Port. The comfortable benches allow one to take the time to absorb the many outstanding Natural features. If one is at the Lagoon at "low tide" one can walk from one side of the lagoon to the other (but be careful and make sure that you know when the tide changes!! This Park is very highly rated (by travellers like us) and has been awarded TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Merit". While visiting Neck Point Park.. it can be easily reached.

I hope that this Review has...
