I confess to having been shamefully uneducated to the fact that Canada had POW camps during the second world war. On a recent trip to New Brunswick I visited the Internment camp museum. We opted for, and I do recommend, the guided tour. Our guide was friendly and so very knowledgeable. We were shown a scale model of the internment camp before we were toured around the small space. Our guide gave us great explanations of anything and everything we wanted to look at and went the extra mile to show off the honey extractor and the handmade wooden boxes our party were interested in. In all, I think we spent about 45 minutes here and I was so glad we did. Afterwards we tromped through the old camp site on the side of route 10. Having been to the museum brought the walk in the woods to life. There was no admission fee. This museum is a deserving registered charity and a must-visit when in the Minto area.
