As an avid Anne of Green Gables fan, being able to visit the birthplace of L.M. Montgomery was surreal. The entire building is preserved in time and standing and is such an amazing way to get a glimpse of the past and life of such an amazing Canadian author.

There are several interesting things to discover about her life at the birthplace including the room where she was born, several book excerpts, and her wedding dress.

There is also a section at the front of the home where you can purchase some of her books and other Anne of Green Gables merchandise and Knick knacks.

Tickets are $7 per person and in my opinion, definitely worth visiting at least once in your life if you are a fan of the books and adaptations. There’s lots to learn about the author, Anne, and how it...

Loved it. I brought my wife and children here a few years ago. Its literally around the corner from my mother's childhood home. Her name was Earith Dunning. We all signed the guest registry.

Apparently, the staff member on duty that day recognized my surname in the guest registry as the surname that my mom took once she married my dad. The staff member was a cousin of my mom's! She contacted my mom that night and shared the fact that we had visited the LMC homestead that afternoon!

I love PEI. It was a very pleasant experience.

UPDATE My mother passed away last year, so my brother and I travelled to the Island again to bury her remains at the Geddes Memorial Cemetery.

It's March 2025 and I still think...

I visited this little museum with my mother, husband and 4 children. The hosts at the front were very pleasant and welcoming. The woman gave a lovely history of the author and the house. The young girl, summer student maybe, seemed a little unsure but was nice. While all of my children's many, many questions were being patiently answered by the older woman, the young girl showed my mother a video of the bedrooms because she was unable to climb the stairs to see the rooms herself. Purchased some books as souvenirs and each one was stamped with Lucy Maud's signature. Definitely worth the stop. (Edited to...

Paid as much as other places, but found the info was a regurgitation of places we'd been to in Cavendish, and not much to add to what we already knew. The Anne of Green Gables Museum was somewhere we paid to gain entry into but was so much more filled with information a new the Lake if Shining Waters and significance of everything the author held dear in her life and for her writing too. This place has little to offer and the author lived there only the first 23 months of her life until her mother died of TB. Except for the fact that she was actually born in one of the rooms there is little else we could see of relevance.

Friendly staff and volunteers, who were very helpful in offering us collectible stamps and embosssments. A very well spoken volunteer shared the background behind each room and some of the details of Montgomery's life. Not to miss option if you're a green Gables fan! 30 minutes is typically enough time for the average person to spend here. We purchased the "Anne package" with the musical in Charlottetown and that also covered the entry fee into the Heritage Place, the museum, the birthplace and one other.

Stopped by the birthplace of the legendary author, Lucy Maud Montgomery! 📚 The house is small, but the room where she grew up is beautifully preserved. 🏡✨ It’s not a huge place, so the visit is quick but totally worth it if you’re in the area. 🌸 🎫 Tickets: $7 for adults, $3 for kids – definitely affordable! 💵 Even though it was a short stop, it felt special to be in the place where Anne of Green Gables was born. ❤️ A must-see for fans of her work when visiting Prince Edward Island! 🌿
