I have been looking forward to touring the Barbour site as this is my third time visiting newtown but the first time it’s been open. There’s a lot of potential here but I left the tour feeling disappointed. My eyes are still watering from the mold in the white house. Wouldn’t it be incredible if the Barbour site incorporated more of this special town into its facilities. Why not put a general store in with items that people that live here need as well as gift shop selling merchandise made by new Wes valley locals! My third year here and there’s never been a show or event in these buildings that I’ve been able to attend. I could see live music, touring plays, traditional east coast dances or meals and karaoke nights taking off in that great hall. It would also be lovely to make at least one of those out buildings into a place where locals can come to make their art (quilts and other fabric art) or work on and/or teach traditional crafts / hobbies. Tourists need a reason to make the trip worth it, I’m not sure it’s quite worth the drive in the current state.

New-Wes-Valley is a beautiful spot, and the people of Newtown are no exception. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and would recommend it to anyone...
Read moreI ate at the restaurant and was disgusted with the service or lack of training provided to staff members. They lacked basic etiquette. On my arrival I observed no less than four employees at the front desk. After standing there for approximately two or three minutes, one of them advised me to sit wherever I would like. My food was served without cutlery or napkin, I had to request both items. Considering the fact that tourists is a major part of your business, you should consider investing in the basics of...
