It’s taken me over 7 years to finally pop in for our wine tasting this past Saturday. I brought my 91 year old mom with me. We were greeted by Dalton with the wine menu and a friendly smile. There was an event about to begin in the big hall or room next to the wine tasting area. It didn’t stop Dalton from being attentive to us and then we were also attended to by Dakota. Another friendly and knowledgeable young man with a smile. We were not rushed at all with our wine tasting which was nice. We were able to sit at a table and enjoy our surroundings and the view of the waterfall and pond through the window. A lovely patio with a view which we would love to try when it’s not too hot for my mom. A great menu to pair with their wonderful wines. The Sparkling Rose and the Lundys white was fantastic. I also tried the Lundys red and was impressed overall. That Lundys white was so buttery on the palette with a blend of 5 grapes. We tried the Riesling also and it was leaning towards dry. Also enjoyed this one to my surprise. We found out that there are 2-2 bedrooms and 2-1 bedrooms for overnight stays upstairs! How much better can it get if you wanted to make a day and night of it in such gorgeous surroundings?! We bought 3 bottles of wine and we plan on returning again very soon. Thank you D & D! You made us feel very welcome and our visit...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Lundy Manor Wine Cellars for a wine tasting paired with a delightful cheese and cracker board, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by picturesque vineyards that set the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of indulgence.
The wine selection was impressive, showcasing both local favorites and some unique finds. Each pour was accompanied by knowledgeable staff who provided insights into the flavors and the winemaking process, enhancing the tasting experience greatly. I particularly enjoyed their [specific wine name], which had a lovely balance of fruitiness and acidity.
The cheese and cracker board was equally impressive, featuring a well-curated selection of cheeses that paired wonderfully with the wines. The crackers were fresh and complemented the cheeses nicely, adding a delightful crunch to the tasting.
The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that I felt the portion sizes could have been a bit more generous, especially considering the price point. However, this minor detail didn’t overshadow the overall enjoyment of the day.
I highly recommend Lundy Manor for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing afternoon filled with great wine and delicious food! I’ll definitely be returning for another...
Read moreTerrible experience start to finish. We sent for a wine tasting and...
Server offered flat water or sparkling. We asked for sparkling. She brought flat.
First wine was not spectacular, but the problem was that server did not return for second tasting for 15 minutes. After my wife went to look for her, she showed up promising that she didn't forget about us... sure.
We asked for charcuterie tray. Server said they weren't offering one due to Covid restrictions. Fair enough. Not 10 minutes later, another table gets served a charcuterie tray from their server....
A 5 oz glass of wine costs $7. A flight of three 2oz glasses for the tasting costs $10. That math makes zero sense.
Server finally returns and I asked for my second wine...which was on the "elevated" tasting menu. I assumed she'd be okay with comping me the exception due to her forgetting about us. She didn't. That's a small gesture she could have done to smooth out some bad customer service up to that point...and she didn't go for it.
Second wine was okay but nothing special. Again, 15 minutes goes by and no sight of server. We were done.
There's a hundred wineries in Niagara. We're never coming back here again....
