Visited Haunt Manor for the first time this past Friday night and had an absolute blast! Wasn't sure what to expect in terms of busyness with it being the Friday of Halloween weekend, but I honestly could not have had a better experience and this ended up being one of the best haunts I've ever been to! I do not say that lightly, as I am a big lover of all things Halloween and have been to Haunt at Wonderland, Screemers in Toronto, etc so definitely have a comparision.
First of all - the design. I saw some other reviews complaining about how you are forced to start with the first attraction which causes a very long line. I actually loved the fact that it was organized that way, because it meant I only had to wait once! Spent approximately an hour in line, but it didn't feel long because I was constantly entertained by watching passerby get scared by the actors roaming around. Additionally - you weren't safe from scares in line! The actors would sneak into lineups, have conversations with those waiting while remaining in character, and scare people who didn't realize what was happening which was amazing. I LOVED being able to just wait it out and do my time in line once, and then get a solid hour and a half ish of uninterrupted scares because of the way each attraction led into the next. Waiting a little longer initially was also great because the organizers were making sure to leave adequate time in between groups, so you would get all the scares and not have them ruined by catching up to the group ahead of you!
Next - the haunted houses! The quality was honestly top tier, and 10/10 creativity. Probably the longest haunted attractions in terms of actual duration that I've ever tried - it just kept going! The first attraction, for example, is a 3 story haunted barn. So three separate floors of scares to walk through, and so many amazing props and sets used. Similarly, the last attraction consists of multiple buildings and outdoor spaces with an Asylum, a clown area, etc, so every time you would walk out of one building and think it was over, there would be another building with an open door to walk into and continue your journey! SO awesome.
And finally - the Hayride! Absolutely my favourite part of the entire Haunt, and I seriously hope they keep all the major parts of it the same for next year and add to it, not take anything away because it's all so awesome. I have to admit, I anticipated it being fairly tame because how scary could a tractor ride through a forest really be? I was absolutely blown away. The entire thing felt like a combination of a ride you would get at a theme park and an interactive show - the quality of the sets, the incorporation of tech in terms of a screen on the actual tractor that played music and video clips as well as explaining the rules of the ride (all in character), and the actual interactive experience that was the ride were all so incredible. Not to mention - it was long! Not just a little 5 minute drive, but probably 20 ish minutes of constant entertainment. There wasn't a bad seat to be had, and constant surprises as the ride progressed - it felt like a legit choreographed performance, it was just that good. I think the scary hospital scene at the end was my favourite part - the actors playing the evil doctor and deranged patient were top tier, and their responses in character when interacting with us were just gold. Please keep that for next year!
There were also lots of add on things available if you wanted to do more things than just the haunted attactions - a photo booth, shows every hour, food, axe throwing - so much to do!
I honestly loved it enough that I wanted to buy another ticket the following night and do it all again - can hardly wait...
Read moreMy first time here and I will not be returning .... Waited in line from 7:15pm and did not get through to the first maze till 9pm where we were sent in 15 seconds after a group of four girls who would not move forward making it where we actually didn't get any scared in because we seen theirs first in advance like a foot away from us , kept on having to stop walking to try to get our own experience. Was super upset and discussed it with the hay ride girl , she was super kind and let us use vip to pass the super long hat ride line up that would have easily have been another hr wait which really was the only thing that made my night.
Where we then went through the second part of the maze literally 10 seconds after a GROUP OF 15 People . We tried slow walking but eventually caught up with in 3 minutes where then another group of 6 caught up to us where we were then sandwiched between the two groups . We then half way through to the last maze tried to wait 30 seconds so we can let the big group go and not see all the scares a head of time and the mid way person asked me what I was waiting for and told me to move it where I explained I didn't pay 140$ to watch groups infront of me get scared .
We then were forced to push in behind the group where we had the other group a less than a foot away from us again . Seeing all the scares well in advance .
Really disappointed my fiance and I spent 140$ for this and photos ....
Oh your printer broke we didn't get our photos the owner is suppose to print and mail them to us which we appreciate it . But overall it seems like they were pushing to get as many people in and out for the fact of money and not quality .
Even discussed with a scare actor and explained people were still lining up and I was told they over sell often .
Really disappointed, hopefully in the future you can find a decent median for when to send people in based on the size of group and possibly work on the quality vs the money you want...
Read moreMy friends and I have attended the event the Saturday before Halloween and while the event did well in being scary, I had bumped my head twice on their set. My forehead had swelled up and I was in a lot of pain. The owner, Phil, came by to check on me and had brought me ice and asked me where I had hit my head, I gave my best description to where it was and he had stated to me and in front of my friends that he had hurt himself around the section I had as it was behind the scenes equipment that was not taken care of properly. I sent an email on that Saturday asking if I could be reimbursed as I did not finish the event and he emailed back the following day saying he will reimburse my tickets. I have sent countless emails and called and was given word that I will be refunded the tickets yet nothing has been done. I called again the following week understanding that events take time to get a handle on everything. I know for a fact it should not take almost a month for a refund. When I called on the Monday he said to me that he was not ignoring/avoiding me and I should be getting my money in a day or two. It has now been a week and still no email or money. I do not think that I should be hunting the owner down to receive my money that he said he would provide back. It has been more than a week now and just want this issue resolved. I have photo proof of all the emails stating that I will be given my refund and proof of my injury on the day of. I also have multiple friends that witnessed it and was present when the owner had spoken to me. PLEASE just...
