Perhaps the Covid 19 crises has impacted them, but our experience here didn’t align with the positive reviews we read. The person doing our tasting (which was $10 per person plus tax, and not redeemable as a credit toward purchases), although pleasant enough, seemed distracted and uninterested. The tasting was based on what she had open at the time. She knew the names of the wine we were tasting, but when we asked questions, she replied to most of them with “I’m not sure” or “I don’t know”. My wife and I got the giggles, especially when I leaned against the outdoor tasting bar and the the whole thing moved, nearly sending the wines flying. She was able to tell us a bit about the family history of the owners, so that was nice. If there was some place to sit down and enjoy the gorgeous weather, we didn’t see it (nor were we directed to it). We were the only ones there at the time, so volume of visitors wasn’t a factor. I would say that if you’re looking for a low key, noncommercial winery experience, and you already know quite a bit about wines, this could be an interesting...
Read moreThis place is awesome! There are some farm animals but they are mostly fenced in. Place is quite small, only two small tasting tables and a small shop. BUT, their wine is amazing!!!
We did a flight and bought all four we tried. The orange wine is unique, stronger flavor than many other orange wines. Ice wine is less sweet than usual, made from red grapes instead of white, and had a nice strong fragrance and taste of raisins somehow! Simply amazing. Never had an ice wine like that before. Rose, whites and reds are also good. Must try!
Lady working there was friendly and helpful. Although, if you plan to visit, reservations might work better. We were there when they first open so was able to do a quick walk-in after their first reservation left. But later when we returned in the afternoon to buy more wines ( yes we returned in the same day), it was packed. Many were waiting and there was not that much room to...
Read moreFun, small, organic, family run vineyard and working farm? I'm in!! For as small as they are, the lineup of wines is much broader than you might expect. We thought, oh, maybe three or four wines. Ha! Plan on coming back, because you're going to want to try them all.
There are plenty of familiar faces (chardonnay, reisling (dry!), merlot, cabernet franc, gamay, blends, icewine. But one of the joys of visiting a small winery is the chance to taste novel bottles from the winemaker that you won't find anywhere else. Love Child, for example, is simply a treat. A little more sugar than we drink normally, but this is something special - and unique. You have to come and try it all and choose your own favorites, but I'd be surprised if many people walk away empty handed. (even West Coasty wine snobs like us, haha!!)
Keep up the great work everyone, and keep right on experimenting! We love your...
