I'm thrilled to share my incredible time at Riverview Cellars! Seriously, this place is an absolute gem and I can't stop raving about it.
The vineyards are like something out of a dream – stretching out as far as you can see, and you can just feel the dedication that goes into making their wines top-notch. Each sip is like a flavour adventure that does a happy dance on your taste buds. You can tell it's made with a blend of nature's goodness and the expertise of some seriously talented winemakers.
But it's not just about the wine – the staff at Riverview Cellars are the real deal. They welcomed me like an old friend and took me on a wine journey where I learned about the work and flavour that went into each bottle I tried. It wasn't a stuffy wine lesson, though – more like chatting with friends who really know their stuff. I was especially lucky to have a very friendly and knowledgable staff member named Adelyn prepare my tasting and provided me with tons of information in regards to the wines I tried. Her friendly demeanour and excellent service is what made this a 5 star experience!
In a nutshell, Riverview Cellars Estate is a slice of paradise for anyone who loves good wine, good vibes, and good times. Whether you're a wine pro or just getting started, this place has something for everyone. I left with a happy heart, a happy palate, and a promise to myself that I'll be back soon. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on the magic of this winery when you visit...
Read moreUPDATE: It has taken a year and a half to get back to Riverview, but Friends with benefits program from the Commisso Wineclub and the promise of case sale specials drew us on a lovely sunny afternoon. Adelyn, our host, was tremendous. Friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the Riverview wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our flights on the patio. An online ad for cases of the 2020 Reisling piqued my interest ($99 - a steal - as of Aug 25, 2024), and I did enjoy it in my flight. However, the 2020 Bianco - Reisling Gewurztraminer from my flight was also on special for slightly more - and I loved it. So we ended up with case of that instead! ($129 - as of August 25, 2024).
Thanks, Adelyn! August 25, 2024 C & J
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Fabulous first visit to Riverview Cellars as part of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chocolate & Cheese festival. Right on Niagara Parkway, it lives up to its name with a great view of the river. A delicious red wine called Barrel 81 (2020) was offered at the festival. My partner enjoyed it so much that we had to take advantage of the festival special offered on Barrel 81 and brought home a case. I am looking forward to a return visit in summer to sit outside and watch the...
Read moreMy sisters and I come from Toronto, Rhode Island and Hong Kong for a family reunion trip in Niagara Falls. We were hoping for a memorable wine tasting experience at Riverview cellars. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Right off the back, the young man started the tasting before all ten of us arrived with 2 minutes before the schedule Time. He never introduced himself to us, but rushed through the first glass of wine. Then he simply disappeared and left the rest of it to the other woman to handle. There were only 5 or 6 crackers for a plate of cheeses that costed $25. Same glass was used for the white and the red wine, so we couldn’t tasted the red wine properly. We also had to ask to see the bottle of the white wine that was offered to us. We were repeatedly reminded that they closed at 6, we felt being rush throughout the whole experience. Honestly, if 45 minutes is not enough time for a full experience, they should not offered a 5:15 schedule. We made do with what we got, but It was not a satisfactory experience. Even those the wines are fine, we would not recommend this winery to...
