Van De Laar Orchards — Local services in Niagara-on-the-Lake

We have been to that place for the past 5 years. Our last visit yesterday was very disappointing to say the least. While I did mention to the guy that I am coming back every year (not to seek any favor) I thought he would at least consider that before giving me the $35 peach box full of rotten ones. These were third grade peaches he would not sell to anyone. The least you would do is selling it to a customer who is coming back every year for the baby gold peach. I am so disappointed after traveling 2 hours just for that place. He could not care for providing a good customer service. May be because he has been getting too much customer. We happened upon this stand a few days ago as we drove the beautiful and scenic Niagara Parkway. They were wrapping up and about to close, but were so hospitable and personable in serving us. We bought delicious golden plums, peaches, and an amazing grape variety I had never tasted before called Sovereign Coronation (I think I remembered that right?). This is by far my favourite farm to table stand in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Being a local to town, it's hard to find places that genuinely value authenticity and quality. All the fruit, vegetables and products here are all from local producers and farmers. The staff is always friendly and it's a place I love to frequent.
