Uplands Park is a hidden natural treasure in Oak Bay that offers a rich, immersive experience in one of Victoria's most pristine ecosystems. This expansive park is a haven for nature lovers, filled with unique wildlife and incredible views that change with the seasons.

The park is teeming with wildlife, including birds like sparrows, hawks, and woodpeckers. On lucky days, you may also encounter deer roaming through the wildflowers and a glimpse of owls hiding in the trees. The park's rocky outcrops and Garry oak meadows provide a perfect habitat for native plants and wildflowers, which bloom beautifully in spring and summer, attracting butterflies and bees.

Benches are thoughtfully scattered throughout the park, allowing visitors to pause and enjoy the serene surroundings. The park has no water features, but its natural beauty more than makes up for it. You’ll be captivated by the panoramic views of the ocean, with the distant Olympic Mountains visible on clear days. The birds chirping leaves rustling, and the gentle breeze provides a soothing backdrop as you explore the winding trails.

Parking is easily accessible at the nearby Cattle Point, and there's plenty of space, though it can fill up during peak times, especially on sunny weekends. The park is open year-round and is accessible to the public, making it an excellent place for a peaceful hike, a picnic, or simply reconnecting with nature.

Uplands Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Victoria’s natural landscapes at their finest. Bring your binoculars and camera – the wildlife and stunning views will...

The Beach Drive site seeing drive is perfect for those wishing to show off Oak Bay's beautiful scenery. The slow drive through Uplands Park is a must especially for tourists who are disabled or perhaps elderly and unable to trek the network of amazing wilderness trails in the park. The boat ramp areas have plentiful parking , again especially for those with mobility issues and serve as wonderful photo op sites. The seabirds are prolific in the park as are other sea critters like Otters as well as several fairly 'tame' Deer. This is a wonderful, history-rich location and a must see for anyone touring the region. The views of the USA are gorgeous from this spot as well as being one of the best star gazing locations for its lack of streetlamps. Truly an...

So I had time to kill in area and found this park. I wasn't disappointed. Parked at the start of the one way loop. This was good because you can go down to cattle point and enjoy the views. There is a boat launch. Two of them! While no permanent washroom facilities there was two out houses. One didn't have toilet paper. The other part of uplands park is the forest. While there isn't official paths except for the one on the south side. By the war memorial you can enter and walk these hidden paths. Very interesting as the vegetation of the area is definitely unique. Highly recommend to walk this park and enjoy all the terrains. I will have a video of my walk on y.t additionally where I parked you could access willow beach through...

I go here all the time, It is such a beautiful walk with little hills and Moss And dogs everywhere. It gets extremely muddy on parts of the trail (If you enter on the top left trail, it got pretty muddy through December and January until the mud froze a bit) so unless you're wearing boots that go up your calf, you're probably not going to be walking through that area because it's that much mud. Probably the best place to walk your dogs!! Off leash at least!! There's lots of room so if someone is walking on lace you can avoid them pretty well, And it's very dog friendly except for certain parts of the Year! (I believe it's April, May, June)
