As a day use park, we live close by and our daughter loves coming here, for the past four years we have purchased the yearly pass.
As far as amenities they have a large barn with the indoor playground as well as a large outdoor pool (This does cost extra -- Would be nice if there was a discount for non swimming parents, but I understand that would be hard to manage) some older houses and many farm animals and trails.
Bronte Creek regularly has special large and small events going on that keep my daughter entertained throughout the year and not feeling bored (Check the "friends of Bronte Creek" web page, they have a calendar)
As far as hiking and the like, we aren't really into that, so less of an issue for us, but we still have been on the trails with a larger sized stroller which was relaxing for us.
Hosting a party here was cost prohibitive for us, because there was no large group discount, each guests car would be forced to pay the $20 fee to get in and park, and some rental locations don't have power (these are listed, so not a surprise), additionally, sound systems are prohibited. (On the "Friends of Bronte Creek" page, they have a Picnicking/Shelter Rentals section with more information. You might want to also find out exactly what constitutes a "sound system" if you are planning on bringing in your own music for said party.)
Some time ago I did have a concern about bringing in a 6V electric ride on toy for my daughter to play on. I wanted to do the right thing, so I called, and at first, they tried to classify the toy as an ATV, after some discussion, they did allow us to bring it, but we only ended up using it in the parking lot because 6V. It would be helpful to other patrons if they had some guidelines around ride on toys (Any ride on toy that's unmodified, equal to, or less than 12V, has plastic tires, not more...

Read moreWe went on a Friday, Oct 11th. It was a PA day for school children so there should have planned activities for kids. The park was a ghost town. The farm house was closed. I think it is open on weekends only. It was right before the Thanksgiving weekend and it was a huge disappointment! I used to visit the area often when my kids were small, I’d say between 7-12 years ago and the experience was so much better back then. When we used to come here in the fall, there were always pumpkins in the field. This time, the field was empty with not a single pumpkin before the Thanksgiving weekend. There used to be chickens and now there are weeds growing inside the chicken cage. The chickens used to roam free at day time and my kids loved petting them. They were VERY friendly. Some stalls are empty with no animals left. We saw sheep near the farm house but they also had pigs in there years ago. In the end, we went to the play barn. The kids are teenagers so they were not allowed inside. We saw rabbits and a pig. They all looked very depressed! I did not like conditions the rabbits and especially the pig were in. There are goats underneath the barn. There used to be more animals living in the barn years ago. We will NOT be back. They used to have horses too. Now, it is a sad place, very different from what I remember from several years ago! I wonder if their pool is open in the summer or it has deteriorated and closed. * Btw, this review is only for the park section, not the camp site side of...
