Beautiful place!
Beware! A strong fishy scent lingers around the shoreline & some surrounding areas if you choose to sit closer to the water. But, you don't feel it much when you're on the grass or on in one of the shelters
However parking is extremely limited!! (Especially if you're coming here for an event/pincic) you'll be forced to wait 15-30 min until someone leaves to park, so whence you come, ARRIVE as early as possible.
This place has shelters (group seating). Some have benches some don't. Not sure if you need to book them, but you can use them for large gatherings ( picnics, birthday, class etc)
There are no swimming instructions, but people do swim here. I've also seen people canoe/kayak etc, so I'm assuming it's allowed.
This place has different viewing angles. At every entrance, there's usually a condensed rock pathway leading upto the middle of the water where the waves crash and water sprays over you. This is the best spot to cool off and take pictures! you get the rock pathway in your background, and the water up close in front of you)
This place also has a kid's playground and a splash pad. Lots of tree area and I'm sure hiking...
Read morePlease note that absolutely NO BBQ, table top cooking, charcoal, propane or any kind of stove is allowed in the Coronation Park, Oakville. There has been a fire ban and kind of nice to see this park back to its glory rather than a cooking and eating frenzy and not to mention the park being destroyed by hot ashes dumped all over green landscape or setting the grass on fire with garbage scattered. If you would like to do BBQ then you may have option of booking one out of 3 or 4 BBQ pits provided under a paid permit issued by the town. Please book well in advance because no other place in this park is allowed for free BBQ. Parking is limited but ample for usual park patrons. If you would like to do free BBQ then you may have to go to Bronte Provincial Park or go to Burlington parks. I have been using this park since last 15 years...
