10 stars! Oops, only 5 available? My husband and I visited last weekend (October) and I can't say enough great stuff about it! Let's start with this and get the messy stuff out of the way: I HATE outhouses - I will look for a private spot in the bush before I use one, but here I had to because there were quite a few people and the leaves had fallen so no place to hide! The bathrooms (outhouses) here were impeccable. No, really. Nothing on the floor, no fear of overflow, no garbage, clean and stocked TP holders and full hand sanitizers. Same thing both at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. First, we did the peat bog/marsh trail which was well-kept and beautiful. An easy walk. Next, we did the 53B trail which was a 3.6 km hike. Another easy trail with many gorgeous views. At the end of that trail, we crossed Ridge Road to take trail 53E back to where we started (3 kms.). That was a bit of an oops because it had rained in Ottawa area for about 4 straight days prior, so this trail on lower ground was saturated and basically it was a mud bath all the way. I have to say, though, at age 66, it was a blast walking through mud puddles again! Mer Bleue is a MUST see. It is a historical and visual gem. We'll be going back to do some of the...

it's beautiful place don't get me wrong, this my first & second time I believe my kast time ever returing , but each I was there my on a holiday I see a man sitting at the picnic table tablets set up camera n video taping while I walked with my friend walked by, we question didn't feel safe camera following us as we walked by n then at some point on board walk the a freaking drone right above us then zoomed around but where we was walking there it was ,we were saying what the heck , Then I started to point off In another direction he zooms off in the same direction I pointed ,as we come off the trail yup there he is recording and as everyone comes off that trail We were questioning to our self, is this public aloud to fly drones in theses areas and making the public uneasy of the person flying his drone over the public. This guy isn't a conversation officer not in uniform or anything identified who he is or why....not returning to any of the greenbelt. Sunday 4th,2024...

The free Mer Bleue Bog conservation area is an great place to see an important part of the Canadian environment. This feature was created by glaciers that carved into rock making a depression where there is now a bog and a swamp. Bog's are unique because they hold low concentration of minerals and limited stagnant rain water. This water is absorbed by layers of slowly decomposing vegetation and moss making it bounce like a sponge when pressed. This creates a highly acidic ecosystem that has low levels of oxygen making it difficult for most species of plants to survive. All of these conditions create the perfect environment to preserve organic material that rests within its layers and it becomes a souce of carbon absorption as well as a fossil fuel. There is a nice board walk that takes you through the bog. This is a short easy walk and very family friendly. If you like my videos, photos or reviews don't be Bleu, just pull your hand out of the bog and...
