I love this little museum be sure to see the model trains it is a real treat to see how one family actually came here in the 1800s and had brought tools for everyone to use and to set up the basis of a beautiful town. I love this museum's hands on approach most of the items are replicas and the real deal all one needs to do is sit back and relive history. Apparently medical aid was a major issue in the day and they got their first dr in 1930s. .History was hard back in the day. However still echos how hard it is to get medical attention. The place has a wonderful school room which echos the tests and tears of a hundred kids and was a lovely place. Nothing will compare to the actual lantern history and you can see the times glow in the old barn beside the school very cool to been there and that was my favorite thing to do.there was hang out by the lanterns.

So very interesting our first time there and will definitely go back. I enjoyed all the different areas, the blacksmith spoke to us about his knowledge and training in Japan etc so fascinating and he's very talented. The lady in the museum was so helpful and the main room was wonderful as you were able to touch and pretend to use things, open drawers and scavenger hunt for the kids we spent 3 hours there but could have stayed longer maybe take a picnic next time beautiful place to sit and enjoy the water feature outside the church. Oh forgot to mention this is by donation there is a tap for debit outside the church or cash inside but if you cannot afford this ....it is free education and a lovely day out. Well done Parksville.

This place is amazing its bigger & better then i thought . Its got a food stand . Every Sunday is live jazz music by TOPAZ JAZZ. Its a informative place and the buildings are old and if you like red dead redemption the video game or western cowboy stuff then this is the place for you . Its close to rathtrevor beach and the hotels in that area . Its got parking around .

This venue was both easy to work with and utterly beautiful for our day. We were married in the historic chapel and the helpful staff were happy and proactive in moving furniture, providing us time to set up and allowing us to bring in decorations. The grounds themselves are very fun; both for exploring but also for any sort of photo shoot. The booking process was painless, with communication constant. Thoroughly recommend it if you are looking for a historic flair...
