Another great lighthouse on PEI. There are staff in the lighthouse to share information and history of the lighthouse and the area. When we were there it cost $5 per person to go up into the lighthouse. The climb up is the same as it is in most lighthouses; steep ladders/stairs in tight spaces. Probably not the safest thing for small children or anyone with mobility issues to do.

It's a simple setting, with some lovely views and photo opportunities in the little area around the lighthouse. We spotted some seals bobbing around in the distant ocean.

The gift shop on site has some great stuff. No cheesy junkware. A lot of quality, tasteful items. I'm still regretting not buying some of the beautiful home decor they had there. And the most beautiful line of pottery.

It's nice to see the work of local artisans in this shop. (Some gift shops seem to be full of items that are purported to be specific to the local place or people or history, but are actually factory-made items manufactured in far away countries). This gift shop has a lot of handmade and quality items - art, household, trinkets, home decor, and more - that is made by folks living in the immediate area.

A neat and related thing to do is stop in at the Gillis' shop at a home down the road a short way. There we met the Gillis', a lovely couple whose family history is tied in to the lighthouse. They make some of the beautiful art and other items that are for sale in the Point...

The dining experience in and of itself can be described as extraordinary. From the ambiance, the picturesque backdrop of the coastline, to the sublime lasse-faire attitude of leaving all your stress in the city, this restaurant does not disappoint. The menu is simple and direct using locally sourced ingredients and highlighting the beauty of Prince Edward Islands greatest attribute, it's seafood. There is a serious wow-factor when first tasting a dish and it is reminiscent of what can be found in a fine dining establishment. Chef Paul Lavender was clearing some tables and in a brief conversation with him you can tell this is a man passionate about his food and proud of his work. We had the seafood chowder and lobster roll amongst oysters and chocolate mousse. I know on our next visit the Acadian chowder is on our radar. Until we...

My review is not of the lighthouse itself - which is beautiful, of course - but of the employee manning the lighthouse. We came here on the afternoon of May 31, 2019. There were only four people (including myself) visiting the lighthouse at the time. I needed to use the washroom, which is inside the gift shop/museum by the lighthouse. The shop was closed but there was an employee inside. I begged her to let me in to use the washroom but she refused. That is despicable and completely unwarranted behavior. It would have taken literally no effort on her part to let me in and use the washroom. All it would have taken is a simple act of human decency. I was clearly desperate and she refused to let me in. Completely ruined...

Picturesque tall lighthouse on the beautiful south coast of Price Edward Island. They had a super cute gift shop with souvenires, and wears. My sister and I each bought these beautiful hand painted pottery dishes for grating garlic. You can even pay as small fee ($5) to go up inside the lighthouse all the way to the top. The money goes to maintaining the lighthouse so we happily paid. The inside is set up like a museum and a greater who tells you the history of the lighthouse and it's keeper. You can even crank the fog horn with is fun! There are several levels to climb and it's cool to see how the keeper lived in the small spaces The view from the top is incredible. Sweeping views of the sea backed by lush evergreens.

I visited Point Prim Lighthouse with my friend on a weekday with a cloudy weather. The Lighthouse is open for public access and there is (CAD$6+tax) charges for it. The stairs are nearly straight and steep. The interior of lighthouse has preserved the life of person was used to work there when it was actively used. There is also display of several light lamps that were used in ancient time explaining how they were used and an active honk-able fog machine as well. Apart from that, there is also a collection of shells, water animals (crabs) and artifacts that people have donated. Overall, the place was peaceful and not crowded while I visited and food was also delicious which is available at nearby location.
