As I have difficulty walking I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there is a small car park with spaces for those who have disabled persons' parking permits very close to the summit. There is wheelchair access to a viewing platform and plenty of space to take photos of the lovely view over Victoria. There are a couple of portaloos (portable toilets) available if you're really desperate. There is a dirt path with occasional stone steps that winds its way up to the actual summit: the fully able-bodied can usually get to the top in less than five minutes, with mild arthritis and back pain I made it up to the top with several pauses to rest (and to let people get past me) in just short of 15 minutes. The effort was well worth it for the 360 degree views! There is a circular stone structure with a ledge around the inside that one may sit upon to rest or stand to get a slightly better view. Read moreThis was the BEST place we've visited while travelling around Victoria. Initially we were planning to go to the Malahat Skywalk, but after going here we honestly lost the point of going to Malahat and potentially paying such money for it. Keep in mind that there are 2 parkings. 1st is the upper one, and it's only a few minute hike up to the top (at most 10 minutes in a relaxed walking pace), but this parking only opens at noon (don't hope to park at the side of the road - the closed gate is located at the bottom of the road up). The other parking is at the bottom, the hike from there has a 150 elevation, you can either take a hiking trail or just go up an actual paved road (at noon it opens to let the cars go up to the other parking lot). Other than that, the hike was DEFINITELY worth it, the views were amazing, and I would say it's a total must see...
