I LOVED this park! There's a great mix of short, easier trails and longer hikes. Would definitely recommend going in the fall -- it was absolutely stunning. The park entrance staff spoke both French and English. This park is NOT dog friendly! Dogs are only allowed in picnic areas, not on the trails at all. We didn't know and brought our dog, which definitely put a damper on things since one of us had to stay back while the others went hiking. I'd recommend leaving pup at home for this one.

Tres joli endroit pour se ballader en sentier dans une belle forêt. Stationnement, accessible sur quelques sentier pour handicapés. A cette période la forêt nous offre un superbe spectacle de couleurs. Sentier pour débutant, intermédiaire et pour ceux qui sont en bonne forme physique. Près de la cité de l'énergie. Parc d'arbres en arbres. La rivière st-maurice à proximité. L'Île se situe à Shawinigan en Mauricie. Venez voir l'une des plus belles chutes au Québec. Bonne promenade !

Beautiful hiking area. There are tons of trails leading through beautiful nature. There are snow shoeing trails, hiking trails, as well as cross country skiing trails. Tons of nature to see and lots of peace to be felt. Don't forget to go see the...
