OâKeefe Ranch is a pristine historical site mixed with the rustic fun of present day farm life. Itâs an excellent tourist destination and a wonderful place to have some family fun. There are historic buildings kept in excellent condition for those who love a walk through history. An old schoolhouse, a barn, a covered waggon and an old farmhouse make up some of the lovely buildings one can view on their visit. There are some friendly farm animals and a few more âuniqueâ animals that would interest any animal lover. (To my surprise the bull was quite friendly having been bottle raised from birth!) There is also a Cornmaze that doubles as family fun and a terrifying treat during Halloween season âField of screamsânights. To add to all this there are also campsites on the grounds and special events that are posted frequently. I was there for the purpose of filming and can honestly say it would make a lovely spot for any photography as well. Overall I was very impressed with OâKeefe and would love to take my own family there.

Very nice attraction just off the highway. We stopped by out of curiosity and were glad that we did. Entry is by donation, they suggest $10 per person. Itâs a time capsule back to a long-forgotten era where a white colonizer established a ranch on the unceded territory of the indigenous peoples. He hired them to be cowboys, doing gruelling labour as ranchers and sleeping in squalid, basic conditions while he spent his days in a lavish mansion with his 3 wives, one of which was an indigenous woman. He was given hundreds of acres of land for free by the BC government at the time. Itâs an utterly depressing story, but I give full points for the preservation of these relics. Itâs an important reminder of BCâs dark roots and provides a glimpse into the truly horrifying history of the country. There are people dressed up in full garb and are fully in character. Thereâs even a postmaster who might have a letter for you when you drop by the general store! A lot of original items and artifacts 100+ years old. Worth a stop.

I have never been to O' Keefe during daytime before. It has a lot of pioneer Era stuff kicking around--more than anywhere else in Vernon. They have a general store with candy and an old school oven (jawbreakers no longer sold here). A church for weddings, a building with a large model railway, a Haunted house for kids in the basement, and a one-room school can all be found here. There is a daytime corn maze for families, but super unclear as to where one should go after exiting. We accidentally entered the staging area for the nighttime mazes. We eventually looped back to the O'Keefe entrance. There is a fun free tractor ride around the property. Goats and sheep are free to pet. There are a couple of food trucks operating. The restaurant is no longer here (it moved to Armstrong). Overall, not a bad place to take a family visiting from out of town!

The staff was all top-notch! We attended a field trip, and the expectations were clearly stated in the beginning. The young man who had the role of school teacher was a great character! The grounds were impeccable, and the tours were very informative. As a group, there was an area to leave our lunches, etc, but if we go again, we'll bring a wagon to bring our stuff around. It seemed stroller/wheelchair friendly. The washrooms were clean and conveniently located. Lots of shade to avoid the sun. The kids loved getting a treat at the candy shop. The water is not suitable for drinking, so we were glad we were advised to bring lots to stay hydrated.

We visited Historic OâKeefe Ranch on a sunny Sunday, October 27, which made the picturesque views even more enjoyable. The ranch was operating on a donation basis instead of an entrance fee, with a suggested donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child over 5. The experience offered a family-friendly glimpse into local history with authentic buildings, farm animals, and informative exhibits. Itâs a fantastic spot for families, as kids can explore the grounds and interact with some animals, adding a bit of hands-on fun to the historical insight. Highly recommended for a leisurely day out with family!

I've always wanted to visit this place, and I'm so glad I finally did! My family and I had a fantastic time exploring the museum and learning about ranch life in the 18th and 19th centuries. We spent around 2 hours there, and the whole experience was truly immersive. The staff and volunteers did a great job of bringing history to life. The kids loved seeing the animals, and the tractor ride with Miss Oso, the hilarious milk maid, was a highlight! We all had a great time and can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in history!
