BE AWARE THE MAIN ROAD IS CLOSED TO CARS TILL MAY 31. You can still access trails though. The Squamish Estuary, where the Squamish River meets the Salish Sea, unfolds as a vibrant tapestry of life. The air thick with the salty tang of the ocean and the earthy scent of tidal mudflats. Everywhere I looked, the estuary pulsed with activity: herons stood in the shallow waters; shorebirds darted and probed the exposed mud, a flurry of feathered energy; and overhead, gulls cried out, their calls echoing across the vast land. The landscape itself was a masterpiece of subtle shifts, from the lush green of marsh grasses to the glistening browns and greys of the exposed tidal flats, all framed by the dramatic backdrop of the towering Coast Mountains, a constant reminder of the powerful forces that shaped this dynamic ecosystem.

Absolutely stunning view of the mountains and ocean. There is a giant freighter boat there too; which, is interesting... It doesn't seem to move from that spot. I've been here before and it's always there! Awesome place for photography of the scenery and mountain peaks. Great view of Mount Garabaldi. Must be a good place for wind surfing as I saw a man setting his board and sail up.

Really great spot at the edge of town. Difficult to get to - Google Maps routed me to a blocked road so I had to get creative in finding my way there. Basically you just need to park near the neighborhood just south of the estuary and then walk to the pathway. You can cross the bridge (which is what I saw most of the locals doing) or walk down the rocky shoreline to find a place to sit.

I recommend putting on satellite view for...

June 2025 and we went for for happy hour starting at 2:00. Got there a little early and ordered the lunch special which was a BLT sandwich with fries. Meal showed up hot, delicious, and reasonably priced. At 2:00 we ordered beverages which came promptly and we're icy cold. Parking was ample and restaurant or pub is wheelchair friendly. Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff....
