A great hidden gem. The loop runs along granite ridges and through oak forests before topping out at a panoramic high spot. Trails are rugged and sometimes poorly marked. The start of the trail is deceptively tame, it quickly becomes an intermediate trail. Someone of the rock outcroppings the trail traverses can tend to be very slick. In autumn the trail tends to be quite muddy, and the beavers in the area are focused on reengineering the route which crosses at least one dam. The old trail loop is still there, and can be found on maps but it is closed and marked as such - it hasn't been maintained for several years and is significantly more rugged than the current path so here the signs.
