This is a beautiful location for photography. I often visit this park with clients to take their engagement and wedding photos. There is a ton of variety here. You are allowed to use the old Stewart House for photographs as long as you respect their peaceful environment. There is also a giant barn, trails, an apple orchard and a dock for waterfront shots.
It’s peaceful, quiet and has a trail that is perfect for biking, jogging or walking the dog.
You are not allowed to fly drones here. Staff from the house have come out to warn me as they saw all my photography equipment and I also had the pleasure of speaking with a by-law enforcing officer. Read moreNow, Elgin Heritage Park is a mighty fine place, full o’ wonders. Got a purty wetland, a green meadow, a shady forest, a boat dock, and the old Stewart Farm, a piece o’ history. The nature trail winds ‘round for over three miles, takin’ about an hour to mosey along. The heart o’ the park is that there wetland, with the tide rollin’ in ‘n’ out on the Nicomekl River. Salmon swim up that creek, and there’s ponds and marshes full o’ life. Wetlands are rare ‘round these parts, so let’s keep ‘em pristine. Stay on the trail and keep yer dog leashed. On a more recent visits I toured the Stewart Farm house with family from out of town. The water is busy with paddle boards, kayaks, and sail boats.
