Brides and Grooms, do not have your wedding here. The venue was so disorganized and ruined our day. We provided a detailed timeline and they definitely didn’t follow it:
-The groom’s middle name was posted on the entrance sign (the grooms father’s name) having to be pointed out by our minister. Imagine seeing a sign that you’re marrying your father-in-law.
-After our ceremony, there wasn’t a staff person in sight during cocktail hour. Took awhile for the drinks and food to come out.
-At the reception there was a noticeable amount of time before dinner proceeded. We did our entrance on time and then waited 15-20 minutes to eat. Also with noticeable lapse in between each table group, having to wait until the one before had completely returned to their seats leaving the dinner room empty each time. The wine service was lacking as well. The we’re only 65 guests.
-The bar stayed open when they were supposed to close during elements of the night, such as the first dance and speeches, so the bride and groom had to wait for guests to sit back down in order to proceed.
-The venue started to do take down far too early. For example, The DJ's microphone was taken from the podium, and as a result, our MC was unable to tell everyone "last call" for late night food. It took a while for staff to find the microphone, coming back twice with the wrong wireless mic. It seemed that staff were in a hurry to take things down before 1am, even though the contract states we have the room until 1am.
-It was hot in the reception hall and when I asked a staff person if the AC was on they just said yes, but didn’t offer to turn it up etc.
-Our wedding cake was left under a table in the hall, so it melted and wasn’t salvageable to freeze for our anniversary.
-I was also asked after the dinner service if I could change the cake cutting time to avoid OT for staff. It was inappropriate and too late to be asking us, especially since our timeline was provided well ahead of time.
We spent a lot of time providing and updating the timeline to the venue and they couldn’t keep up with a small group of 65 guests. We spent over $13,000, but the venue clearly cut corners.
Thank goodness we hired our own day of planner to help the venue. We complained to the banquet manager and asked to be compensated for our wedding planner, but every time we heard from them their story changed and they kept putting the blame on us, the bride and groom. They only offered us a $350 gift card for the restaurant, which we declined. It was all around an...
Read moreMy wife Jamie and I got married at Morgan Creek earlier this summer in July 2025, and we are so glad we chose this venue for our wedding!
The email communication from Matt and Christina was always prompt and professional, with a true service mindset, right from the start.
Christina helped arrange a time for us to come taste the menu before choosing everything, and the food was absolutely delicious! She thought of everything in advance of our detailing meeting. She also made sure the meetings were timed appropriately so that everything was ready for the big day. All we had to do was show up and choose, and everything was set exactly as we envisioned! Finally, whenever we had questions, we got a reply within a few days with the answer. We always felt up to date on what our experience would be like.
For the rehearsal and the big day itself, we were paired with Jennifer, who went above and beyond to help us have the perfect experience. She was there with a smile, guiding the proceedings of the day and making us feel comfortable. There was a mixup with the seating chart too, and she helped us resolve it with no questions asked.
The whole staff was professional and kind through the evening, keeping glasses and plates full and the hall clean, and the food was to die for! We had so many guests complimenting how delicious everything was.
The pricing at Morgan Creek is also transparent, so we knew ahead of time what to expect. We felt more comfortable knowing the ballpark for such a big expense ahead of time. When we didn’t consume as much at the bar as projected, we even got a refund for the amount.
We live in the area and also love walking down for dinner at the restaurant, thanks to servers like Steve! And he even came outside to wish us well right before walking down the aisle.
Thanks to all the staff at Morgan Creek who helped us put on the wedding...
Read moreSecurity is a big issue when considering locations for golf courses especially at Morgan Creek, Surrey, BC.
We were on vacation and our friend drove us to play at Morgan Creek Golf and Country in Surrey BC on August 8, 2016. While we enjoyed playing the course, we were devastated when we returned to our car after our round, to find that our car was broken into "professionally" (drill punched the lock) and we lost everything that was locked in the trunk - my purse and my husband's laptop.
Security was severely lacking at Morgan Creek. For the high price we paid, there was no attention to your bag drop, or your arrival in the parking lot. It was evident the course was aware of the security problem, because when we reported the theft, they showed us a picture of suspicious individual with a bike riding around the parking lot watching what people locked in their trunks. It was a different person, who I remembered riding by our car, when we arrived. How do two guys ride around the parking lot and not get noticed and kicked out. How do they allow two cars to be broken into that day?
I left my purse locked in the trunk, and they managed to take my credit cards and run up $9,000 in charges, and somehow they got my PIN!!!
I got no satisfaction from the Golf Course, who did not see fit to file a police report. So if you are planning to play at Morgan Creek, think twice about it, and if you do, don't lock anything in your car trunk. It...
