It's a nice park that has a large open grassy area, with approx 3 large shelters and a few picnic tables. There's a building with washrooms, but be mindful the doors are heavy if sending yound children. On the trails in the forest, you can see all the houses people paint and drop off. The trails are fairly flat but need to watch for roots, stumps and rocks but there's lots of shade, and a few mosquitoes. A stroller or wagon would be fine if they have bigger, or pneumatic, tires, and could probably make due with a regular stroller with a bit of careful navigation. The main reason for 4 stars is the lack of parking on a weekend since it's a very busy park. People tend to park on the dirt shoulder passed the entrance when all the regular spaces are full. It can be a bit of a walk if you're carrying chairs, snacks, art supplies etc. so a wagon and/or extra, and able-bodied, people,...
Read moreRedwood Park is a pleasant stroll through a sliver of old growth forest. The sufficiently wide trails and bench rest points along the way, it is a stress free walk for young and old alike. Looking at the grandeur of old growth trees as they seemingly tower into the skies above leaves a sense of wonder in one's mind. There is adequate parking at two locations. The functional play park greets little squeals of delight every time. A tour in the park's Bird City is a memory of its own. There are restrooms, but they are not always available; at least when we visited the park. Trails wind back to the start where the play park is leaving that one last chance for excitement for me and my grandchildren. Well worth an...
Read moreVery nice family park. Some older picnic tables located in different areas and a few long narrow covered areas for large groups (not currently allowed due to COVID restrictions). Large modern play area for kids. Some large slightly sloped grass fields for family picnics. Many beautiful coniferous and deciduous trees throughout the park. Main trails are easy to follow through the park and some not so well marked narrow trails veer off where you can get a little disoriented if not careful. Overall a good experience for all ages to enjoy. This review is for the Redwood Park overall. Fairyland is located inside the park itself. Fairyland is quite amazing. The kids...
