The pros———The campsite is set up right within Terrace and had easy access to all amenities. The site itself is beautiful with great walking trials. Decent sized power and non-power sites that are well tended for a rustic campground. The sites are well trees and help keep the heat down but mosquitoes and black flies are a consequence. There are outhouses around the site and one central bathroom with 3 showers per male and female sides. They are free and have good water pressure. There is one family shower. City water taps are set up around the sites as well. A huge plus for us is they do not breed discriminate, as many campgrounds now do. All dogs are welcome as long as you practice good pet ownership.
The cons—- for our larger group we were asked to put a tent into one of our large RV sites to keep us all together, which was fine. But not told that person and tent would be paying full price for a campsite, despite not using one. There is no add on for extras within your site. Something, that should have been disclosed. Shower-washrooms are not kept very clean and do not lock so it’s a safety issue for us. Because the facility is not really near your sites it can be creepy walking and using them later at night.
All in all it was an enjoyable week in Terrace, visiting the Lava Fields (a must do if you are visiting the area) and a gorgeous drive into Prince Rupert. A good place away but not really away from...

Zero cool rocks 🪨 had to actually relax on the beach ⛱️ which were nice and sandy in some areas. Enjoyed the walking trails,...
Read moreBeautiful piece of heaven right in city limits. Feels like you are way out in the middle of the woods. Beautiful trail suitable for a family walk of all ages and is stroller friendly. The flushing toilets are locked with a pin pad for paying campers only which is a let down although they do have outhouses on the island. River access everywhere :) A park for the kids to play, a field for playing and running pets. I basically walk here every day, when I die I should have my ashes spread here because I love...
