This beach was recommended by a friend. I drove an hour and a half with my 4year old daughter. Arrived around 1:30pm. They had a QR code that you had to scan for parking $10/hour which is a ripoff by the way. The QR code was not working properly on my phone I guess. It kept asking for a ZIP CODE (not a postal code) so I was unable to process my payment. I went to ask one of the officers on duty for some help. I showed her my phone and she saw for herself that it was asking for a zip code, and she was also unsure of what to do. She saw that I was continuously struggling, so that’s when she told me “don’t worry about it”. I asked her if she was sure and she insisted I “don’t worry about it” and walked away. Later on at 4:26pm I received an $80 ticket from another officer on duty. I went on to fight this ticket, had a AMP screening and of course the officer on duty “doesn’t recall my situation happening” she doesn’t remember speaking to someone about a ZIP CODE and of course she would never tell anyone to “not worry about it” in her line of duty. I obviously don’t have proof of our conversation and the officer didn’t make notes (because why would she. She obviously doesn’t care as her shift was almost over as she stated she left at 1:57pm). If I knew there were other methods to pay, then I would have done so, but nothing else was mentioned to me. This is so unfair that the officers can get away with anything and I will continue fighting this ticket. The beach was horrible as well. Too many rocks and seaweed, but we tried to make the best of our time. I wish I just left...

A wonderful, scenic Georgian Bay beach, water surprisingly warm, and both sand and a long deep grassy verge on which to set up. Minutes from Blue Mountain Village. There’s not much in the way of concessions, though we did have an ice cream truck pull in (woohoo!), though there are clean washrooms. A long sandy shallow slope (with some minor, smoothed out rocks), and big sandy area make for hours of fun for the kids. Parking can be a little tight, though the turnover is fairly quick - so if you can’t find a spot, just give it a few minutes - and the parking is not cheap! $10/hr as of August 2022. The location and quality of the beach make it well worth the cost, though....

This was supposed to be a stop after we had a wonderful staycation. I paid for parking but unfortunately my time had expired as we were in the water. The municipality tickets you the same if you don't pay for any parking or your parking time expires. Also the ticket set fine is $80 and if you challenge it and are guilty it costs $105 FOR A REGULAR PARKING TICKET. The QR code on the parking signs are too blurry to get onto the approved app. Almost forgot, you must also download the app. I did not see any machines to pay with cash or card. The assumption that someone like my grandma would have a cell phone with data is...

Nice sand. Kids played in the sand and in the water. The beach is clean and well maintained. The picnic was a great success! I recently went to Northwinds Beach with two families for a picnic. It was a great experience overall. The view was amazing and the sand was soft and inviting. The beach was well maintained and clean. The kids had a great time playing in the sand and in the water. We had a pot luck lunch which was a great success. All in all, it was a great day and I would highly recommend Northwinds Beach for your next picnic.

Great little park in Craigleith, mere minutes from Blue Mountain Village. There is a small launch there for canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. The beach is a bit rocky in the first part of the water, but once you get out a bit it's sandy and shallow - great for kids. Parking is limited and fills up quickly on weekends. The water in August is beautiful, clear and relatively warm. There are some trees for shade, but again, it is small so seating is limited.
