Mount McKay Scenic Lookout — Attraction in Thunder Bay

Mount McKay is an excellent place to go visit there's an actual trail that you can climb to the top I wouldn't recommend it for small children but teens and adults will have great fun climbing the mountain be aware and climb at your own risk, but the views are quite spectacular and it's great exercise you may even see the odd blackbear. The trails not marked so it could take you awhile to find it but it's quite obvious bring water and wear the proper footwear a walking-stick wouldn't be a bad idea have fun and thanks for reading please...

The lookout on Mt. McKay is accessed through the Fort William First Nation's. There is a small fee to drive your vehicle to the lookout at the gate. You can choose to attend a local Powwow or make an excursion to the peak if your healthy and adventurous. The trail up the back side is for experienced & healthy trekkers. It took me a couple of drive bys and finally to ask at a gas station as I forgot my GPS to find the road that goes up to the lookout. It is not at the very top although someone told me that you could get there if you chose to follow a trail. Unfortunately, the trail was too muddy for me to make it to the top.
