Middleton Railway Museum — Attraction in Town of Middleton

We stopped by just expecting to look at the outside displays of steam engines and other railcars, but one of the volunteers tidying the grounds took us inside to see the amazing huge reproduction of the Annapolis Basin and its various industries, including a small moonshining site, and a working train showing the DAR route. The work and time put into the interior display is astounding as we could see from a couple of new parts being built on the side tables. Awesome experience getting to visit this little museum! Thankful for Bill and his wife for showing us around and giving us a tour while teaching us the history of the station and the main attraction, CN 1274. The museum is all run by volunteers and they are doing a great job at restoring the area to its former glory. Very friendly volunteers. Lots of potential but we were not able to look inside the trains so disappointing for kids. Also, the model of the trains and town are on very high platforms. Impossible for younger kids ( two eight year olds) to see most of the display. It would be helpful to have an elevated standing platform around the display so kids could enjoy what the museum has to...
