Muench Bar Picnic Area — Attraction in Township of Langley

This is a very scenic location on the Fraser River. I was there on a very rainy, misty day which had its own unique appeal for a set wander along the shore while enjoying some unique views of the river and the traffic on it. While there, voyageur canoe full of paddlers pulled in. What a great experience they must have had following in the wake of Simon Fraser. Great little area next to the beach! I bike here everyday and have always enjoyed it rain or shine. Its quiet and scenic and the people you do see here are always friendly. You may see a train or two pass by across the river, but they usually pass by quickly. The bench area is full of peaceful birds chirping and sometimes you can see a fish jump...

This picnic area is almost always deserted because no one knows it's here. You have to park on the side of the road and walk in about half a kilometre, or bike in. There are outhouses here but no running water. It's a nice quiet place to sit on the grass and read. If you have kids, do keep an eye on them because the river seems calm, but it...
