🥾 Experience: A good hike overall. You don't need to prepare specifically for it, just bring a bottle of water. Watch the ground for roots, there's a lot of them and there's some scrambling on the rocks, but there's trees to help you on your way. The views at the end of the river are beautiful and you can rest and enjoy dipping your feet in the water. Be careful though, as the water gets deep really fast. 😅 Difficulty: Definitely moderate. Follow AllTrails on this one. The roots make it such that you need to look at the ground to make your way through, but the end is pretty and the walk is beautiful. I don't think hiking poles are necessary for this one. 🚗 Parking: The parking is at French River Provincial Park, which is free, and off the side of the road. There's a small lot with some picnic tables in the shade. 🛣️ Approach: The beginning of the hike is near the French River Provincial Park visitor centre, which has clean bathrooms and fresh drinkable water. 🕕 Time of Year: end of August 🚻 Bathroom: As mentioned there are clean bathrooms in the visitor center. ☕ Amenities: Within the visitor center there's some snacks and souvenirs that you can purchase. There's also picnic benches outside to enjoy a meal.

Tried the trail in fall and really enjoyed it. A nice adventure for kids — not just a simple path, but with rocks, roots, and a little climbing to make it fun. Great for children to explore and spot small animals along the way. I’d recommend wearing long pants, as there’s poison ivy along the sides.

Posted as a 1.5km hike, surely felt much longer due to the challenging rocky and exposed tree root terrain. Watch your step! You will be rewarded with very close view of the falls/rushing river. Bug spray or the handheld Thermacell will help with mosquitoes if visiting in the Spring.

The trail gave us a little more than we bargained for - lots of rock gardens, root systems, and climbing up and over shield. Also, it can be very wet and muddy, especially after some weather. Because of this, it can be quite buggy throughout summer. But seeing the falls makes the...
