I hiked to Sturgeon Falls on the afternoon of July 25, 2020. The trail began from the Nutimik Lake campground, along the gravel road leading to the beach. It just under 4 km round trip hike to Sturgeon Falls. It took me 45 minutes for the hike, not including a stop at Sturgeon Falls.
The trail had some ups and downs and followed through forest along a gravel path. The foot bridge was about 500 metres into the hike and it was beautiful! There were amazing views of the Whiteshell River from the bridge. It made for really great photos too. After crossing the bridge, follow the trail to the left (the sign points to Sturgeon Falls). This section of trail travels through peaceful forest and ends at the falls (they were more like rapids). There were large rocks for sitting on and enjoying the views. It was fun to watch people attempting to surf and water ski in the rapids and the views were pretty. The trail follows back along the same path. It was an easy walk with some minor ups and downs.
