While the Barron Canyon view does provide height, the vantage point that is useful when viewing a water body, the overall experience is somewhat underwhelming given that the water flowing through the Barron river looks black and not turquoise blue as is usually the case with rivers in Rockies. The trek to the canyon is just 1/4 a km from the parking lot and with somewhat steep ascent, but not for long until you reach the first view point. There are 3-4 more viewpoints close by as you proceed on the circular trail. The edges are unprotected by any railings and therefore should not be used for selfies without putting yourself in danger as you would need to move close to the edge to have a meaningful photo with water down below 100 meters.

The drive itself to the parking lot is way off in the east end of the Algonquin park requiring long drive if you are coming from the west as is usually the case for most trails in the park. The drive also has dirt track 29 kms long into the parking lot, however wide enough for to and fro traffic. However get used to the oncoming cars blowing the plume of dust as it passes by you.

Overall a good but somewhat subdued experience.
