Read moreThis is a fantastic trail... It is one of the least frequently used trails in Algonquin Park. Much more peaceful much less traffic from other hikers. And of course less litter left behind.
The hike itself is not very difficult it is about 3 km. Maybe half a dozen shorts to pills mostly flat and a bit of windy parts... Lots of roots along the trail too so be careful of trip hazards.
They're not many fantastic lookout points but the peacefulness of the trail makes up for that.
In the winter this trail is great because it is significantly less populated although it is hard to get into the lot when it's fully covered in snow be careful not to get your car stuck getting into the parking lot. Of course once the trail is packed with snow it's a lot easier to hike cuz there are no roots.
Definitely worth visiting this trail during high tourist season. Or anytime for...
Read moreIt is a beautiful trail. Not a beginner trail, or if you have any disabilities. I have a hard time walking and am asthmatic, lol it was very tough on me, but I did it. We loved looking at the big Pine trees, they are quite magnificent. We of course have seen larger, but so many on one walk was quite beautiful. The trail of course has many stones and big roots, so you must really watch where you are walking. A few small inclines. I am unsure how long it took us, just over an hour or so. But alas I stopped to take quite a few pictures. There is an old camp preserved here but it really isn't much to see, as it is fenced in, as to keep it preserved. So nice to get out and experience the Park like we have...
