Wonderful lighthouse and the view was beautiful with the low tide and sunset. For the first time of a several visits there the lighthouse was actually open! I had no idea that you could go up to the top!
I was very fortunate to have a "local" lighthouse volunteer arrive and completed the 3rd floor for me to happily take pictures from the top from my camera. How kind and thoughtful! I/we had no idea that the provincial/federal funding for this gem was extremely limited. They rely on volunteers to maintain and open & close the lighthouse daily during season, as well as run the gift shop which helps give much needed funds to help run and maintain it. Pleasant little picnic area and walking trails nearby. Had road signage directing you to the site been more clear, this review would have 5 stars. We drove right on past without even realizing it.
