Excellent York Region forest to visit with a good parking lot, wide gravel accessible trail, varied dirt long loop trail, and the headquarters for York Region forests. The accessible trail is wide enough for at least five people across and the gravel makes it easy to traverse. It has a nice loop in the first half of the forest. Continuing on the trails they become dirt, but well travelled and often around 4 people across can fit. There are more hills on the back loop and at the far end of the property is a marshy area with boardwalks and a nice stream. With all of the different turn offs in the middle this can be a 1km, 2km, 4km, or 5km loop. Some weekends during the summer there are even guided trail groups (we passed one this most recent time) that teach about the area, hiking, birding, and many other subjects. It was gloomy all day so it was a little disappointing because pictures would look much better if it was sunny ππ. But we had an amazing time walking/hiking here. We took blue marked trail first and then followed the white and blue again. We didnβt get chance to walk all the trails but it was well maintained. My only wish is if the trails are marked well like in words or small map not only with color marks. It was not that bad but we were not sure how far we were from the parking area because it started raining. Parking is small but it is free. Also they have car charging stations. Thatβs pretty cool. I totally recommend this place to anyone...

Many hikers and walk the dog couples, Middle age and seniors. Put on insect repellant either spray, ointment be recommended. In early morning, the air is fresh but mosquitos are prevalent. Around hot and sunny noon, less insect and get sweat more. The booklet to be pickup at the Info Box many meters away from the " Keep to the Path" sign post and stone path is helpful. But the scale is non- proportional while Google Maps satellite and terrain mode offer little help and is better than none. When there are stop or station sigh post at the crosspoint, it definitely be beneficial. I would recommend go left or north on Oakridge Trail, at Ninth Line point, return via...
