Kilcona holds a special place in my heart because it's where our pup found 2 of his 11 brothers. These pups were found in a garbage dump in Fairford, MB on March 17, 2022. They were approx 2 days old and their mom was deceased. On two separate occasions, we were stopped and asked about our dog. It's so easy to see the resemblance. Stories all matched. All are from WHS and were initially rescued by K9 Advocates. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because a select few patrons judge my dog on his size and how he looks. He's big and loud but is a very good boy. In the winter, the ponds freeze over and you can walk on them while being sheltered from the wind. It really is a nice place to take your dogs. Just don't let them swim in the water in the summer. The park is an old landfill and there's a ton of alkaline and other toxins in the water that make your...

First time here. Early Sunday morning I was surprised to see how many people were out with their dogs! This is a huge park with lots of paths to take. My dog had a blast playing and socializing with many other dogs. Everyone was friendly and so were the dogs. Only one dog was a bit less than friendly but his owner had him under control.

My dog doesnt listen or come back when called, but he keeps going in the general direction that im going, so I was concerned he would just take off. But the park is so huge, I kept away from the highway and all was well. After the dog was all tired it was easy enough to get him back on his leash and back into the car.

This is an ideal place to let youre dog get its exercise and socialize. Large open areas, garbage cans throughout the park, big parking lot. I will...

There are three sections in this park East of the city. One is the off-leash area. Second is the sports fields are for baseball and soccer and then there's the most gorgeous area with a paved trail around two or three ponds with bridges. The washrooms are by the sports fields. In the ponds area are baskets to play freesbees. There is sufficient parking along the side road by Lagimodiere and a separate big parking lot at the main entrance of the park. This park is equally attractive for players, romantic couples, freesbee players, couples pushing baby carriages, and seniors or just the lonely soul who wants to happily stare at ducks from North America and birds and other local fauna and the marshes. There are wooden benches along the trail. Beautiful and peaceful...

The doggy park is such a great place for dog lovers to go to let their pups run loose and enjoy a nature walk within the city limits. I find most ppl and doggies are respectful & haven't had any problems with my 2 little ones. The sad part is that the city of Wpg has decided to put a road right thru the off leash area, essentially screwing up the nature trails and not allowing ppl and dogs to have a variety of paths to choose from. They say it's to encourage more ppl to use the park but I go 5 times a week and the parking lot is always virtually full. Plus I've seen lots of ppl playing cricket at the baseball diamond and using the disc golf areas so I'm unsure why they think disturbing a landfill to build a road when there are already lots of park users is a good idea...

Nice park, people there are hit and miss. Sometimes run into disgruntled people upset about off-leash vs leashed area policing. Areas arent visually seperated so first timers sometimes get confused whuch is understandable as well as forgivable. Sometimes unruley, untrained dogs running amuck. In the winter people bring their children to toboggan down the hill in the most populated unleashed dog area and are at risk for their children getting chased down, knocked down or even worse. Don't know why parents don't realize its dangerous, but it's pretty aparent a small child going fast on a toboggan is most likely going to be chased by a dog in an unleashed dog park. I wouldn't be surprised if there has been or will be an incident regarding this.
