Kilcona holds a special place in my heart because it's where our pup found 2 of his 11 brothers. These pups were found in a garbage dump in Fairford, MB on March 17, 2022. They were approx 2 days old and their mom was deceased. On two separate occasions, we were stopped and asked about our dog. It's so easy to see the resemblance. Stories all matched. All are from WHS and were initially rescued by K9 Advocates. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because a select few patrons judge my dog on his size and how he looks. He's big and loud but is a very good boy. In the winter, the ponds freeze over and you can walk on them while being sheltered from the wind. It really is a nice place to take your dogs. Read moreFirst time here. Early Sunday morning I was surprised to see how many people were out with their dogs! This is a huge park with lots of paths to take. My dog had a blast playing and socializing with many other dogs. Everyone was friendly and so were the dogs. Only one dog was a bit less than friendly but his owner had him under control.
My dog doesnt listen or come back when called, but he keeps going in the general direction that im going, so I was concerned he would just take off. This is an ideal place to let youre dog get its exercise and socialize. Large open areas, garbage cans throughout the park, big parking lot. I will...
Read moreThere are three sections in this park East of the city. One is the off-leash area. Second is the sports fields are for baseball and soccer and then there's the most gorgeous area with a paved trail around two or three ponds with bridges. The washrooms are by the sports fields. In the ponds area are baskets to play freesbees. There is sufficient parking along the side road by Lagimodiere and a separate big parking lot at the main entrance of the park. This park is equally attractive for players, romantic couples, freesbee players, couples pushing baby carriages, and seniors or just the lonely soul who wants to happily stare at ducks from North America and birds and other local fauna and the marshes. There are wooden benches along the trail. Beautiful and peaceful...
