Our tour was one of many tours that visited the lighthouse at the same time and the crowding took away from the experience. Unless you edit out people, lots of people, your pictures have dozens of people all over the rocks around the lighthouse. On our short visit, an ambulance took an injured person off the rocks on a stretcher. Our guide had warned us not to go onto the rocks as they are often deceptively wet and slick; so, I didn't. Read moreIf you want to visit a lighthouse on PEI then this is the one to make a point to visit. This is a lighthouse (one of 7) on PEI that you can go to the top and it’s stairs are not as steep as many other are. The lighthouse has a big museum that shows you how a light house keeper and family lived but also all the maritime history of PEI. Several rooms and several levels with more exhibits around every corner. Don’t just pop in to race to the top but instead allow for an hour to take in the all the informative exhibits. They also have a great gift shop, large grounds for a picnic and public restrooms in a building outside. The ladies that work at the lighthouse are super fun to chat to as well if you want to learn more about the...

We spent a good part of three weeks trying to see all the lighthouses on Prince Edward Island. This is one of the prettiest of them all. The park is nice, too, with some convenient public restrooms and a view of the ferry terminal for the Nova Scotia Ferry Lines. There was a damaged ferry parked there when we visited, recently caught fire on a trip back from Nova Scotia. The Canada Coast Guard was scoping it out on a helicopter...
