The discovery center had some great exhibitions to help learn about the geology of Gros Morne and about the Mi’kmaq. The park rangers on site are incredibly helpful and informative. The site has a cafe, gift shop and washrooms. We didn’t get here until the second half of our trip, as we started in the north part of the park. But if I went again I would consider starting in the south, as the discovery center is so informative and really lays the ground work to understanding what makes Gros Morne so special. It’s super close to the beginning of the Tablelands hike. There are lots of guided tours and activities happening in the summer - check the schedule if that is something that interests you. Definitely a must see spot...

The center is full of information about the the surrounding areas, vegetation and plant growth, the animals and birds that habitat the areas. The hiking trails next to the center gives you opinions for a flatter hike to the Woody Point lookout, and the 2.5 hike up Partridge Berry hit to some fantastic views, the Table Mountains that are visible from outer space, great look across the bay to Norris Point, another great place to visit for some great boat tours, and the local food is awesome, enjoy it, it'll be a memorable...

If you're going to the Tablelands, definitely drop by the Discovery Centre and either download or pickup a loaner tablet with their app. It has great videos and explanations of the flora and geology of the area. Totally adds to the experience. We didn't go on the guided hikes as we missed the one for today, but those should be good too if you like a more personal learning experience. The staff at the centre are super nice and knowledgable. Clean building and washrooms. Great view as well with outside...

One of the best discovery centers. Have visited many discovery centers in Canada in BC, AB, ON, QC, NB, NS but Gros Morne Discovery Center is the best. Very beautiful and very well organized. The Geology exhibition was awesome. The indigenous exhibit was also amazing. Good parking spots, not too many though. Washrooms are in the basement, nice and clean. Very friendly and nice staff. The gift center and cafe are very good. Loved everything in Gros Morne Discovery center.
