As part of our tour from Skagway, AK, with Chilkoot Charters, in May we made a stop at Wild Adventure Yukon (formerly known as Caribou Crossing), a medium-sized tourist adventure destination.

We had a delicious meal of BBQ chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, rolls, and all-you-can-eat fresh donuts. For vegetarians, there was a curry dish served over white rice instead of chicken. Ordering food was quick and convenient, done through and walk-through counter line.

At Wild Adventure Yukon, there are plenty of tourist activities to enjoy, including a petting zoo, wildlife gallery, gift shop, opportunities to see mushing puppies and dogs, gold panning, and dog cart rides. While we didn't try the dog cart rides ourselves, it was fun to see the dogs eagerly vying to be chosen for the next ride—it was as if they were saying, ""Pick me, pick me!""

We had a great time exploring the petting farm and feeding the animals and shopping in...

We went here because it was included in the excursion from the cruise ship. I wouldn't go again. Breakdown: The BBQ chicken dinner was meh. The chicken was dry, the bread was rock hard, and the drinks cost extra. I really enjoyed the donut for dessert, but it did have a strong flavor and our party of 13 was split between loving and hating them. The RCMP museum was interesting but heavy on reading and not interactive. The kids were bored. The taxidermy museum is wild! There are a lot of taxidermied animals including large animals like bears and wild cats. If you're interested in this type of thing it's pretty amazing. The live animals were cute but the enclosures were pretty small.

If it's included in your excursion, it's fine. Otherwise I don't...

Highly recommend stopping here if you are in or near the Yukon! Well worth a detour if it isn’t on your usual route, and a great stop if you’re heading further across country! Staff were super welcoming, great atmosphere, lots of activities for the whole family - the puppies, dog sledding and petting zoo were a big hit! I learnt a lot about the local wildlife and history through the museum too. Great food at the restaurant for lunch (whoever makes the fresh donuts is awesome!) and the shop has lots of great items including a large selection of local products from local vendors - definitely make sure to pop in! 10/10 place to spend a few hours! Will absolutely go back again! Bonus - we also saw bears on the highway drive in so that was...
