My family and I were very excited about the tour and the rum tasting...but wow we were not ready for the whirlwind of energy and excitement that is Trish! Trish was our tour guide and if you take anything from this review Trish is a must. She was not just an encyclopedia (that's like Google for you younger readers) of knowledge and Awesome with a capital A. She was also loads of fun, super happy to be giving us the tour and literally the best tour guide I have ever had in my 50 years on this planet! We even sang "The Battle of New Orleans and a few old commercial jingles. When I say we, I mean Trish and I. Halfway through our tour we had a friend from New Jersey join us. It was her birthday. She didn't know about the rum tasting lucky for her I can't drink...happy birthday! The rum was good enough that my wife wanted a bottle of the 1780 Rum only sold at Pedro St. James National Historic Site. I was never so happy to leave a tip in my life. Thanks for the...
Read moreWe booked a combo tour through RC cruise line. St Pedro and Turtle Swim. I think most of us were a little disappointed by how much time we had to wait around at this place. It was hot and our group was much too big for touring the house. My husband and I ended up venturing off on our own to read on the history of the house. Our tour guide lady was nice but due to the size of our group we couldn't hear most of what she had to say. After touring the house, we were guided to a small theater to watch a film on how to island and St James came to be. Not the best film work but we were thankful to have a break in the air conditioning for a bit. This place is located quite a distance away from the Turtle Center as well. If history is your thing you might enjoy this stop, but I wouldn't recommend booking this combo excursion through the cruiseline. It was too overpacked for us to actually...

At a time in the Cayman Islands when most people lived in tiny, thatch-covered houses, a wealthy Englishman, using slave labor from Jamaica, created an astonishing 3-story building called Pedro St. James.
Visitors can learn about the island's early inhabitants, the pirates, and the important role of Pedro St. James in shaping modern Caymanian society.
The architecture of the building itself is stunning, with great care taken to preserve the original features while making the site accessible and comfortable for visitors. The gardens and grounds are also beautifully maintained, providing a peaceful and serene environment for...
