According to tradition, the horse was called Chetak. Although wounded, he carried Pratap safely away from the battle, but then died of his wounds. The story is recounted in court poems of Mewar from the seventeenth century onwards. ... In it, the horse is named Chetak, and is once referred to as the "blue horse". Breed: Marwari horse Died: 1576; Rajsamand, Rajasthan Hight of chetak He was relatively short - between 14.2 and 15.2 hands height. JumpЁЯШ▒ЁЯШ▒ Chetak, the horse of Rana Pratap Singh saved Rana Pratap Singh life in the Haldighat war. It ran 5 km with one leg broken by the opponents and jumps 22 feet canal and leaves last breath. Who gifted Chetak horse to Maharana Pratap? Pratap bought all three horses, Natak was given to his younger brother Shakti Singh, Chetak (possibly a Blue Roan, with bluish shade of hide, 'neela rer' in local language Colour Chetak exhibited the highest degree of loyalty towards the Maharana. According to the folklore sung across the Mewar region, it is said that Chetak's coat had a hint of blue colour and this is the reason why Maharana Pratap is often mentioned as the 'Rider of The Blue Horse'

Chetak Chabutra, a historical landmark in Rajasthan, stands as a tribute to the valor of Chetak, Maharana PratapтАЩs loyal horse. This monument is situated in the heart of the city, providing visitors with a poignant glimpse into the region's rich heritage. The structure, though modest, is deeply significant due to its connection with the legendary battle of Haldighati. The chabutra is a simple platform with an inscription detailing the heroic tale of Chetak. Its location offers a serene environment, making it a reflective spot for history enthusiasts and tourists alike. The site is well-maintained, but its simplicity serves to honor the memory of the horse rather than attract grandiose attention. Visiting Chetak Chabutra is a meaningful experience for those interested in RajasthanтАЩs history and the valor of its historical figures. The monument may not offer extensive amenities or elaborate decorations, but its historical significance and the respect it commands are palpable. ItтАЩs a worthwhile visit for those seeking to connect with the storied past of Maharana Pratap and his loyal companion.

Chetak Samadhi is a true tribute to famous horse Chetak, who was as brave as his master Maharana Pratap Singh of Mewar. During Haldighati battle one leg of Chetak was badly wounded but Chetak saved his master in his critical hour by carrying him from battle field (Rakta-Talai) to the other end of a 22 feet wide water stream by jumping on his 3 legs. Just to glorifying the extra ordinary courage, dedication and loyalty towards his master. This memorial was built on the same place where Chetak breathed last. It is situated in the village Balicha of Rajasmand district of Rajasthan and is close to the Haldighati museum. In 2003 this memorial was declared a Monument of National Importance in Rajasthan by Archeological Survey of India. An old Shiva temple inside the premises of Chetak Samadhi is also an attraction to the visitors.
